The pen is mightier than the sword - A picture is worth a thousand words
It is with great regret at 89 today I must stop publishing but with the current political scene in the world today with 2 "wannabe" dictators #Trump#netanyahu & the dictator #putin and the atrocities (war crimes) happening in both the #ukraine#Israel / #Gaza and elsewhere in the world this will be my last post.
Just publishing this news is depressing but you can follow news here
I need to return to enjoying my music for which I am told I have a good ear for noticing music
picking the Rolling Stones; Eric Clapton´s first records for being famous + many more and
Rihanna´s first CD c2007/2008 when I was diagnosed with cancer. About that time a lady from UA dreams Donetsk (UA Dreams) wrote to me and we corresponded for about 18 months before she moved to Germany. I warned her then about the Russians when they invaded Georgia
Too much hot air throughout the world and not enough action
Hope that history rights itself and that there will be love and peace in the world: those breaking it will meet their karma before they bring their tyranny to the peace lovers of this world

We know Kremlin's methods well. 1949 March 25, operation Priboi: occupant deported more than 90,000 people from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to inhospitable areas of the Soviet Union. Watch 'The Rise of Putin: From KGB Agent to Leader of Russia' here: • The Rise of Putin: From KGB Agent to ...
When Vladimir Putin came to power in 2000, Russia’s super rich saw him as a technocrat they could control, just as they had dominated his predecessor, Boris Yeltsin.
They had a rude awakening in 2003, when Putin arrested, caged and exiled the richest man in Russia. Looking on from their yachts, jets and castles, the Oligarchs sent the same message to Putin:
“How do I avoid being caged?” His response: “50 percent.” In one bold stroke Putin spread fear across his land, consolidated his power and likely made himself the richest man on earth.
Now, with war raging in Ukraine, the Oligarchs are caught between sanctions in the west and a backlash at home. This is the story of Russia’s super rich and the man who rules over them.
Russia’s war in Ukraine has resulted in staggering human and financial costs — over 600,000 Russian casualties according to Pentagon estimates, and war-related expenditures exceeding $211 billion as of early 2024.
With economic losses projected to reach $1.3 trillion by 2026, and the Kremlin under intensifying scrutiny, the future of Vladimir Putin’s regime hangs in the balance. Will Putin retain his grip on power? Can the military sustain its support? What role can the West play, and what lies ahead for Ukraine and its NATO aspirations amid shifting US leadership?
Join two of Putin’s most prominent critics for a compelling and timely discussion. Vladimir Kara-Murza, twice poisoned by Kremlin operatives and recently released from imprisonment in a landmark East-West prisoner exchange, brings firsthand insights into Putin’s inner workings.
Sir Bill Browder, the CEO of Hermitage Capital Management and leader of the Global Magnitsky Justice Campaign, has been a relentless advocate for human rights and anti-corruption measures, earning him the distinction of being named Putin’s “#1 enemy” by the Russian president himself.
Moderating the discussion is Richard Salomon, a Senior Fellow at the Raoul Wallenberg Centre and co-founder of the Illinois Holocaust Museum.
The evening concludes with a powerful recital by acclaimed pianist Mikhail Voskresensky, who fled Russia with his family in 2022 in protest of the war. Voskresensky’s artistry will underscore the enduring spirit of resistance and hope.
Three years to the day since Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the US breaks with its Western allies to side with Russia at the United Nations.
MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell details how French President Macron humiliated Donald Trump after the United States, for the first time in history, “voted with the dictator against freedom” when it stood with Vladimir Putin in opposing a UN resolution condemning Russia’s war in Ukraine.
A dozen leaders from Europe and Canada visited Ukraine's capital to mark the third anniversary of the country's war with Russia in a conspicuous show of support for Kyiv amid deepening uncertainty about the Trump administration’s commitment to helping it fend off Russia’s invasion.
Protesters also gathered around the world to march in support of Ukraine.
‘Politics Nation’ host Rev. Al Sharpton, host of the ‘Bulwark Podcast’ Tim Miller, and Puck News Senior Political Columnist John Heilemann join Nicolle Wallace to discuss the growing cracks in the Republican coalition as they voice dissent over Trump’s comments calling Ukrainian President Zelenskyy a dictator.

Europe, Ukraine and much of the world are reeling after senior American officials sent a clear message at the Munich Security Conference:
European security is no longer an American priority. The United States' new direction is already in place as high-level Russian and American teams arrive in Saudi Arabia this week for bilateral talks on ending the war in Ukraine. Notably absent is Ukraine itself.
President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Saudi Arabia this week, but he is not part of the negotiation. Europe is also not invited. European leaders pulled together an emergency meeting in Paris, facing the possibility they may have to implement a Ukraine peace deal despite having no say in it.
Munich was ground zero for this weekend's world-changing events. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was keynote speaker at the security conference there, where. Christiane spoke with him about his plans to speak for Ukraine — even as the U.S. and Russia exclude him from the table.

In Russia, a handful of businessmen control the oil and gas industry which has been vital to the Russian economy for decades. But who are these Russian oligarchs that surround President Putin? And how did they get their hands on a resource that was entirely nationalised during the Soviet Era?
Russia's leader, Vladimir Putin, has given his first public reaction to comments made by his US counterpart, Donald Trump, following his inauguration earlier this week. Putin praised Trump as a quote 'clever, pragmatic man'.
Meanwhile, there are growing signs that Russia's war economy is under increasing pressure. Media reports suggest Russian President Vladimir Putin is worried about the state of the economy, while some influential business leaders have raised the alarm over bankruptcies.
US President Donald Trump said Monday that Vladimir Putin was "destroying Russia" by not making a deal to end the war with Ukraine. "He should make a deal. I think he's destroying Russia by not making a deal," Trump told reporters on his return to the Oval Office.
Very soon, Donald Trump will be back in the White House as the US President.
It's a change of power that's expected to have far-reaching consequences for the United States — and also for the rest of the world.
Leaders from America's neighbors, here in Europe, and other capitals around the globe are waiting to see what the new US president will do once he returns to the Oval Office.
During Trump's first term in office, he snubbed some of America's traditional European allies, and pursued closer ties with autocrats like the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Trump also famously said he wanted a better relationship with Russia. Now, Vladimir Putin's Russia is at war with its democratic neighbor Ukraine, and both sides are pinning their hopes for the future on the new US administration.
