The European Le Mans Series (ELMS) is a motorsport endurance series inspired by 24 Hours of Le Mans. ELMS offers its competitors a full season of car racing on some of the best tracks in Europe and is split into four different categories: LMP2, LMP2 Pro/Am, LMP3, and LMGT3.

The 2024 season runs between April - October and consists of six races, starting in Barcelona and finishing in Portimão. The series is a natural training ground for drivers wanting to tackle the FIA World Endurance Championship with many aiming to become future world champions.

The Israeli military has said it targeted Hezbollah's central headquarters in Beirut's southern suburbs.

Hezbollah's al Manar television reported four buildings were destroyed in the strikes, with many casualties, which marked a major escalation of Israel's conflict with the Iran-backed militants.

A group of American Army nurses are captured by the Japanese in April 1942. They are marched along with American soldiers as part of the Bataan Death March. They are put in a prisoner-of-war camp in Bataan, where they spend nearly three years.

The story focuses on Lt. Margaret Ann "Maggie" Jessup, the head army nurse who survived the camp and testified against the Japanese. She lobbied for awards of valor to be given to the women prisoners, in front of the United States Congressional subcommittee years later as a colonel.

How it all started

The War in Donbass (also known as the War in Ukraine or War in Eastern Ukraine) is an ongoing armed conflict in the Donbass region of Ukraine. From the beginning of March 2014, demonstrations by pro-Russian and anti-government groups took place in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine, together commonly called the "Donbass", in the aftermath of the 2014 Ukrainian revolution and the Euromaidan movement. These demonstrations, part of a wider group of concurrent pro-Russian protests across southern and eastern Ukraine, escalated into an armed conflict between the separatist forces of the self-declared Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and the Ukrainian government Prior to a change of the top leadership in August, the separatists were largely led by Russian citizens. Russian paramilitaries are reported to make up from 15% to 80% of the combatants.
