Independent Journalist Antony Loewenstein has called for a ceasefire in Gaza saying the situation in the region is “utterly unhealthy”. “What Hezbollah has said for months and months … until there is a ceasefire in Gaza this would continue,” Mr Loewenstein said. “The current situation is so utterly unhealthy. “There needs to be a ceasefire in Gaza which Israel refuses to do.”

Israel says it has prevented a major attack by launching a pre-emptive strike on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said thousands of rockets had been destroyed before they could be launched. Hezbollah's leader Sheikh Nasrallah said the group's operation had been completed as planned, in revenge for the killing of a Hezbollah commander last month.
