Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is taking part in the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group of allies supporting Kyiv with weapons at the Ramstein Air Base. Ahead of the gathering, the UK announced it would send Ukraine a package of 650 air defense missiles. Later on Friday, Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Frankfurt.

McLaren were beaten at Monza, but head to Azerbaijan with big questions over whether it should institute team orders - after points outlier Oscar Piastri passed his polesitter teammate Lando Norris on lap one for the lead. McLaren is just eight points behind reigning champion Red Bull Racing, which it’s outscored by 34 points across the last two races with eight remaining; making its first constructors’ title since 1998 almost inevitable. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has insisted that Israeli forces will not leave the Philadelphi Corridor - a strategically important strip of land in southern Gaza along the border with Egypt. He said that he is “open” to considering alternatives to the presence of Israeli troops along the Gaza-Egypt border, as part of any future permanent ceasefire deal – but that he did not see it happening. Hamas said that Netanyahu's decision not to withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor is an attempt to thwart the ceasefire agreement.
