On February 21, 1987, General Intelligence and the RAID carried out a "punch" operation to besiege an isolated farm in the Loiret, thus putting an end to far-left terrorism in France.

This action was the result of five years of relentless pursuit led by magistrate François MATTÉI, determined Prosecutor. This film tells the story of the men who waged this shadow war, revealing the incredible secrets of European terrorism in the 1980s.

It also highlights how highly motivated militants were sometimes manipulated by intelligence services and “foreign interests” to serve causes beyond them.

How it all started

The War in Donbass (also known as the War in Ukraine or War in Eastern Ukraine) is an ongoing armed conflict in the Donbass region of Ukraine. From the beginning of March 2014, demonstrations by pro-Russian and anti-government groups took place in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine, together commonly called the "Donbass", in the aftermath of the 2014 Ukrainian revolution and the Euromaidan movement. These demonstrations, part of a wider group of concurrent pro-Russian protests across southern and eastern Ukraine, escalated into an armed conflict between the separatist forces of the self-declared Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and the Ukrainian government Prior to a change of the top leadership in August, the separatists were largely led by Russian citizensRussian paramilitaries are reported to make up from 15% to 80% of the combatants.

3 September 2024

In an interview with FRANCE 24, former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert said Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was ultimately to blame for the shocking death of six more hostages in Gaza over the weekend. Israel says the six hostages were "brutally murdered by Hamas terrorists", something the group denies. "They were killed by Hamas," Olmert said. But "Netanyahu is responsible for the erosion that led to the killing of these six people, and the killing of many others that were found before, and the ones that will be killed tomorrow and the day after tomorrow", he added.
