Aries (Mar21/Apr20) You may have to change tactics either to move towards opponents or outflank them. You haven’t done as well as you had wanted to in a competitive endeavour but all is not yet lost. The element of surprise could work in your favour. Being honest about your competitor’s strong points could relax other people into giving their observations away. Ultimately this could help you learn what you can do in order to improve your own performance.
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) It's all down to location, location, location when considering a house purchase or if you’re moving to another area. Even if you feel pushed into making a decision, remember you will have to live with it. For this reason, make some time to consider all aspects of the situation including imagining whether or not you will be happy with your choice in the future. If there are doubts or the answer is no, be prepared to wait until a better opportunity comes along.
 .
Gemini (May22/June21) Like a car tyre suddenly going down, pressures you have been under lately vanish and you find yourself with time to call your own. Now you’re able to see your life from a less frenzied perspective, make your good health a priority. This may mean exercising more and eating more healthily. You are more conscious of how you have been allowing life’s stressors to impact your health and of the need to learn to relax more.
 .
Cancer (June22/July23) Small changes can have a big impact. Give others a day or two to respond to your ideas. Misunderstandings could happen if you keep feelings locked inside and this could lead to some resentment. Someone you meet every day might feel as if they’re being exploited when in fact you are only trying to encourage them to be more independent. Get your feelings out and you will be better understood
 .
Leo (July24/Aug23) Concern over your own or a friend’s health could be resolved by some plain talking. Someone has been worrying too much over nothing and once they find this out it will be a load off their mind. A heart to heart brings a number of uncertainties out into the open. Now that you and others are being honest with each other you will be able to give some attention to people and problems you have been neglecting of late.
 .
Virgo (Aug24/Sept23) As well as receiving affection from others, you radiate charm. Thus creating a pleasant relationship cycle which will go on and on! You’re in the mood to improve a strained friendship and others will appreciate your efforts. Meet on neutral ground and chat over coffee or dinner. Choose words that aren’t aggressive or attacking; listen as well as talking. You might also work out a new strategy with your partner on how to reach joint goals.
 .
Libra (Sept24/Oct23) This is a great time for taking a second look at any ambitious aims and aspirations that have been gathering dust on the shelf of life and seeing if they have any potential or relevance. Ask a close friend, maybe a workmate and certainly a loved one what they think about your plans. You might be surprised by their enthusiasm and encouraged by the energetic support and backing they have to offer. Could this be the start of something big? You bet it could!
 .
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) Keep communications short and simple; senior colleagues have other things on their mind. There is a time and place for lengthy discussions and today, just a few quick words to keep others informed of what is going on is all that is necessary. People know they can rely on you to get the job done with minimum supervision. In a family related matter that is causing contention it would be best not to take any kind of action at the moment. Wait and see what the future brings.
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) Mentally and physically you are on the top line, ready willing and able to take on anyone or anything. You could be negotiating on behalf of a friend or relative to rectify a situation that has been causing them some stress. You might enjoy solving other people’s dilemmas but once the novelty wanes, the whole issue could start to become a burden. For that reason, know when to take a step back and encourage others to think for themselves!
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) If you aren’t getting any response from emails or text messages you’re sending someone, then it’s time to give them a call. You need to know why they are trying to avoid you. It isn’t so much that their behaviour causes you any surprise because you have been through a similar situation before. All you want to know is the answer to one question you have to ask of them. After that, if it’s their wish, you will refrain from communicating with them again.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) If you feel you’ve got all you can out of current circumstances it may be time to move on. Life is an opportunity to create who you are and who you want to be. Some people find it hard to cope with change but not so you. Signs you’re in need of something different are: you can’t focus on any one thing and you’re starting to feel restless. Fitting in with the norm doesn’t suit you now; you need something new.
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) It’s a great feeling to have caught up on all outstanding business and to be on top of normal routines. It won’t take long to clear up odd bits and pieces of work this morning and then you will be idle once again. If you play your cards right you may be able to wangle the rest of the day off to get home early and relax in comfort. A touch of romance will not be the only thing to add to an eventful evening.

The presentation today to me by the Mayor of Villanueva del Rosario of an Inscribed Placque in recognition of the foreigners contribution to this Spanish Pueblo. I was nervous before and during my speech, first in Spanish and then English but judging by the applause I must have said the right thing and this was confirmed by English friends present. For this event I put on a suit, possibly the first time ever here! I had bought this one in Zara serveral years ago for a wedding that did not take place! Well as I got out of my car I looked at myself and said to mayself "maybe the villagers will think that I am running for mayor in the May Elections". Well a few of my friends when they saw me asked the same question! Wonders what a suit and tie will do I suppose.  The video of the event should be ready in a week and posted on the Pueblo website. www.villanuevadelrosario.com. Today is the "Day of Andalucia" here and my eldest daughters birthday :=)

I have just posted details of The Promise which is available on DVD at Amazon.co.uk - I think it did not portray the Jews in a very good light, just after the second world war and their attitude towards the Palestinians!

The Promise - DVD available today

Synopsis

Claire Foy (Little Dorrit) and Christian Cooke (Cemetery Junction) lead an international cast, including Itay Tiran (Lebanon), Haaz Sleiman (The Visitor), Ali Sulaiman (Paradise Now) and Perdita Weeks (Lost in Austen), in Peter Kosminsky's new four-part drama serial.
.
Just as 18-year-old Londoner Erin (Foy) sets off to spend summer in Israel with her best friend, Eliza (Weeks), she unearths an old diary belonging to her seriously ill grandfather, Len (Cooke). Intrigued by the life of this old man she barely knows, she takes the diary with her, and is stunned to learn of his part in the post-WWII British peace-keeping force in what was then Palestine.
.
Left to her own devices when Eliza begins National Service in the Israeli army, Erin witnesses the complexities of life--for both Jews and Arabs--in this troubled land. And as Len's story comes to life from the pages of the diary, Erin discovers the disturbing truths about his time in Palestine and the atrocities he witnessed in the 1940s.
.
Retracing Len's steps in modern-day Israel, Erin sets out on a heart-breaking journey in an effort to understand and fulfil a promise made by her grandfather over 60 years ago.

Plot

Edward arrives on a remote island off the English coast, to join his mother and sister who have organised the family holiday to say goodbye to Edward before he embarks on a year of voluntary service in Africa. Hired cook Rose and painting teacher Christopher join the family in their rustic cottage and on daytrips around the island. But Edward's father repeatedly fails to join the gathering, instead communicating with his wife and children via a series of increasingly strained phone-calls. His absence serves to bring the family's buried anger and repressed emotions to the surface and underlying tensions are gradually revealed through raw scenes of bitter sibling rivalry and marital disharmony.
