The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is finalizing a rule to erase $49 billion in unpaid medical bills from the credit reports of about 15 million Americans.
Welcome to Face to Face, our current affairs show where we explore the world’s most pressing issues from a Central Eastern European perspective. Join Anna Kalczyńska and Adam Jasser-Deputy Director for News at TVP World as they discuss following topics:
1. Italy’s Prime Minister Visits Trump before his inauguration: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, the “Fantastic woman, who had taken Europe by storm,” joins just a handful of world leaders who have paid a visit to the president-elect’s Florida estate since his victory. A "Mar a Lago pilgrimage,” as it’s been enviably labelled , seems to be the ultimate proof of trustworthy relations with the new American Leader.
2. Farmers Protest as Poland takes over rotating Presidency of the Council of EU: Poland has taken over the Presidency of the Council of the EU as farmers with slogans hostile to Mercosur and the Green Deal and German-language slogans addressed to Donald Tusk protested outside the European Commission's office in Warsaw. Warsaw's City Hall reported that an estimated 1,500 people took part in the protest.
3. Scholz on Elon Musk meddling in German and European politics: “Don’t feed the troll”: No one likes being lectured (by the Americans), but this time Elon Musk states what’s obvious: the German model for its economy has expired and the cause for the current problems in Germany lies in the mainstream parties’ policy lines. So maybe Elon Musk is right? Putting the blame on populism isn’t the right answer?
4. From Moscow to Vietnam: Slovakian PM's exotic vacation starts: The whole nation was looking for its head of government, who was finally found on holiday in Hanoi, having chosen the Capella hotel, boasting prices of 5,700 euro per night. A bold choice for a government official – why doesn't it infuriate the Slovakian people?
