Saudi Arabia is planning a new artificial intelligence project with backing of as much as $100 billion as it seeks to develop a technological hub to rival the neighboring United Arab Emirates, people familiar with the matter said. Bloomberg's Christine Burke reports.

Mercedes is preparing for 2024’s final three races not to fight for progress in the constructors’ standings, but to maximise learnings into next season, so that it can hit the ground running in Australia. The Silver Arrows are locked into fourth in the constructors’, which will be its lowest finishing position since 2012, with Red Bull out of reach in third, 162 points the difference following Brazil.

Thousands of rescuers pumped water from submerged buildings, churned through muddy streets and cleared debris on Monday as Spain braced for more deaths from its worst floods in decades.

The toll stands at 217 dead and could spike in the coming days as an unknown number of people remain missing. Around 17,000 soldiers, police officers, civil guards and firefighters spent a sixth day distributing aid, repairing infrastructure and searching for bodies using heavy machinery, drones and sniffer dogs.
