http://www.euronews.net/ Dozens of people are reported to have been killed in separate bomb attacks in Afghansitan. Around 30 were said to have died in a suicide attack on a Shi'ite festival at a shrine in Kabul. An official said a large number of people were injured and that the death toll was expected to rise. Police say at least four people were killed, including one Afghan soldier, when a bomb exploded in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif. A suicide bomber is believed to have detonated a device near a mosque.

Dozens of people are reported to have been killed in the latest violence in the city of Homes.

Damascus is facing Arab and other international sanctions in response to its crackdown on protests against President Bashar al-Assad. The government now says its ready to sign an Arab League peace plan.
