Syria - Russia blames the West for violence there

http://www.euronews.net/ As the fighting and deaths in Syria continue, Russia is accusing western countries of hindering a peaceful resolution.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claims the opposition is being discouraged from negotiating with President Bashar al-Assad and his government.

"At the moment, the Arab League is calling for an end to violence and the beginning of dialogue. But there have been calls from the West and other countries in the region advising the opposition not to enter into dialogue with President Bashar al-Assad's regime," Lavrov said.

The Leveson investigation was ordered after revelations that a private detective working for the News of the World tabloid newspaper hacked the phone of 13-year-old Milly Dowler while she was still missing.

Milly's mother, Sally Dowler, described the moment she got through to her daughter's previously full voicemail.
