CFCL on Friday lodged a Prospectus for a non-renounceable rights issue to raise a maximum of $21.7 million through the issue of 201,446,710 ordinary shares at 10.8 cents each. CFCL shareholders with registered addresses in Australia and New Zealand will be entitled to participate in the rights issue. http://www.euronews.net/ The central American nation of Guatemala has elected a new president. He is a retired right-wing general called Otto Perez and he will be the first military man to take power since democracy was restored in 1986.

Perez has promised a crackdown on violent crime and to protect the country from Mexican drug cartels.

La nación centroamericana de Guatemala ha elegido un nuevo presidente. Él es un ex general derechista Otto Pérez llamó y él será el primer hombre militar para tomar el poder desde que se restableció la democracia en 1986.

http://www.euronews.net/ Crisis talks between Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou and opposition leader Antonis Samaras have just finished, although there has been no statement yet as to what was decided.

The two men were hoping to hammer out an agreement on a national unity government, vital if Greece is to qualify for the next instalment of EU funds to stave off bankruptcy.

Earlier, Papandreou made it clear he had no intention of trying to lead any new formation, but he said it should be decided upon tonight

Κρίση συνομιλίες μεταξύ του Έλληνα Πρωθυπουργού Γιώργου Παπανδρέου και του αρχηγού της αντιπολίτευσης Αντώνη Σαμαρά που μόλις τελείωσε, αν και δεν έχει υπάρξει ακόμα ανακοίνωση για το τι αποφασίστηκε.

Οι δύο άνδρες είχαν την ελπίδα να καταλήξουν σε συμφωνία για κυβέρνηση εθνικής ενότητας, ζωτικής σημασίας, αν η Ελλάδα να προκριθεί για την επόμενη δόση των κονδυλίων της ΕΕ για να εξορκίσει την πτώχευση.

Νωρίτερα, ο κ. Παπανδρέου κατέστησε σαφές ότι δεν είχε καμία πρόθεση να προσπαθούν να οδηγήσουν κάθε νέο σχηματισμό, αλλά είπε ότι θα πρέπει να αποφασιστεί απόψε

Greek premier George Papandreou is to step down as part of a deal to form a unity government. His going broke deadlocked talks after the EU demanded Greece's parties join forces to avert bankruptcy.

It is not clear who will lead the interim administration - those discussions will continue today - but it will be charged with getting a euro zone bailout approved

The country has enjoyed strong economic progress during the former Sandanista rebel army commander's five-year mandate.

He went into the election with a comfortable lead over his main challengers, radio personality Fabio Gadea and former president, Arnoldo Aleman.

Ortega has strong backing among the poor - largely thanks to heavy social spending. That has been partly funded by his Socialist ally, Venezuela's Hugo Chavez

Asteroid to brush past Earth on tuesday 8 November 2011

http://www.euronews.net/ A large asteroid will pass closer to Earth than the moon on Tuesday, giving scientists a rare chance for study without launching a probe.

It is the first time this has happened since 1976 and although the asteroid will not be visible to the naked eye, thousands are expected to track it on telescopes.
