Opens 25 FEBRUARY 2010 in Singapore!

From the director of the award-winning 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time' comes this highly anticipated follow-up, Summer Wars.

Plot

Kenji Koiso (Ryunosuke Kamiki/Michael Sinterniklaas) is a young high school student with a gift in mathematics working as a part-time moderator in the massive computer-simulated virtual reality world OZ, along with his friend Takashi Sakuma (Takahiro Yokokawa/Todd Haberkorn). When Kenji's friend Natsuki Shinohara (Nanami Sakuraba/Brina Palencia) offers him the chance to participate in celebrating the 90th birthday of her great-grandmother, Sakae Jinnouchi (Sumiko Fuji/Pam Dougherty), Natsuki takes him to the grandmother's estate in Ueda, Nagano Prefecture, and introduces Kenji as her fiancé.

Kenji meets several of Natsuki's relatives and Wabisuke Jinnouchi (Ayumu Saito-/J. Michael Tatum), Natsuki's uncle and a Carnegie Mellon University professor who has been living in America for ten years. He receives a mysterious e-mail with a mathematical code which he cracks. Love Machine, an artificial intelligence running in the OZ mainframe, uses Kenji's account and his avatar to hack into the mainframe, causing widespread damage. Kenji, Natsuki's cousin Kazuma Ikezawa (Mitsuki Tanimura/Maxey Whitehead) and Sakuma try to stop Love Machine. Kazuma's avatar, King Kazma, is defeated as Love Machine continues to steal accounts and create catastrophic traffic congestion, as well as disabling electrical devices. Government worker Rika Jinnouchi (Sakiko Tamagawa/Cynthia Cranz) and policeman Shota Jinnouchi (Yutaka Sasaki/Mike McFarland) reveal Kenji's identity. Shota arrests Kenji, but they later return to the house due to the ensuing chaos.

Recognizing the situation as akin to war Sakae calls her various associates, in important positions in Japan's society, and her family who work in various emergency services. She encourages them to work their hardest to reduce the potential chaos and damage that could have occurred. Kenji eventually hacks into the mainframe using his math skills and returns control of OZ to the moderators and engineers. Wabisuke reveals that he actually created Love Machine and sold it to the United States Armed Forces, angering Sakae. After a brief argument Wabisuke leaves the estate. Sakae encourages Kenji to take care of Natsuki during a Hanafuda match. Kenji and the Jinnouchi family run to Sakae's bedside the next morning to find that she has died; Love Machine made her heart monitoring system fail. Kenji, Sakuma, and half of the Jinnouchi family initiate a plan to destroy Love Machine using a supercomputer, while Natsuki and the others prepare a funeral for Sakae.

As Kenji, Sakuma and the Jinnouchi family trap Love Machine the supercomputer overheats. Love Machine assimilates more accounts and grows into an immense botnet. It grievously wounds King Kazma and redirects the Arawashi, an orbiting satellite, on to a collision course with a nuclear power plant. Meanwhile Natsuki discovers a will left by Sakae and the family regroups with Kenji. Natsuki has Wabisuke return home before reading Sakae's will, revealing that the family is asked to bring Wabisuke back to their lives. Kenji surmises that the Love Machine sees everything as a game and has the Jinnouchi family play Hanafuda with Love Machine in OZ's casino world. They wager their accounts in a desperate effort to stop Love Machine and Natsuki initially wins several rounds, but gets distracted and nearly loses her "winnings".

At this point people from all over the world, who witness her Hanafuda duel against Love Machine, enter their own accounts into the wager on her side. Natsuki eventually wins the Hanafuda duel and severely damages Love Machine, causing a massive explosion that destroys most of his body. Love Machine redirects the Arawashi towards a collision on the Jinnouchi family's estate and Kenji tries to hack into the satellite's GPS directly. Love Machine continues to block Kenji's attempts, but Wabisuke disables Love Machine's defenses. King Kazma is revived and assisted by several Jinnouchi family avatars and destroys Love Machine. Kenji eventually activates the GPS code and redirects the satellite away from the estate. The Arawashi hits close to the residence, causing a shockwave that destroys the entrance, the front part of the house and causes a geyser to erupt. Sometime later the Jinnouchi family celebrate their victory as well as Sakae's birthday, rather than a funeral, and Natsuki kisses Kenji on the cheek.

I Come with the Rain

Plot

Two years after killing Hasford, a serial murderer, in the line of duty, Kline now works as a private detective, but he is still haunted by the ghosts of his past. A powerful pharmaceutical conglomerate boss hires Kline to find his only son Shitao who has mysteriously disappeared in the Philippines where he had been helping in an orphanage.

Kline follows the trail left by the ethereal Shitao to the jungles of Mindanao, and then to the urban jungle of Hong Kong, where he enlists the help of Meng Zi, an old police officer friend. The search leads Kline to cross paths with local organized crime syndicate boss Su Dongpo, who is making trouble for the underworld, triggered by an overriding passion for his drug-addicted girlfriend Lili.

Caught in the crossfire between the Hong Kong police and Su Dongpo's mafia drug ring which is also hunting for Shitao, Kline found himself alone, in this unknown city, when Meng Zi is victim of an assassination attempt and hospitalised.

Leaving behind his 5-stars hotel for a shabby murder scene apartment in order to get inside the mind of Shitao, Kline gradually loses himself in the terrifying memories of Hasford, whose speciality was dissecting his victims' limbs while they were still alive, then reassembling them into installation sculptures.

After a few weeks immersed in his haunted memories, torn between good and evil, Kline is about to leave Hong Kong when he finds Shitao, who has become a mysterious vagrant with healing powers.[3][4]

Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Jennifer Carpenter, Maggie Grace, Carla Gugino, Moon Bloodgood, Oliver Jackson-Cohen

Plot

A stint in prison usually has one of two effects on a man - it either breaks him down or makes him stronger. For Driver (Dwayne Johnson), a 10-year sentence proved the latter. His strength was not just fueled by time, but also by a hunger to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched bank robbery that led to his own imprisonment. Untouchable on the 'inside,' he made plenty of enemies in prison - men who were counting the days until his release so they could exact their own revenge on the outside. Now, on the day of his release, he is hell-bent on reaping vengeance upon the four men responsible for his brother's murder. With a list of names and addresses in hand, he sprints out of the prison gates and is immediately on his mission.

No regard for witnesses. No finesse to the acts. One down. Check. Within hours of Driver eliminating the first name on the list, two men are on his trail - Cop (Billy Bob Thornton), a veteran police officer just days from retirement, and Killer (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), a young egocentric hitman with a flair for the art of killing. The hunter is now also the hunted.

Without hesitation, Driver methodically continues down his list while the mystery deepens surrounding his brother's murder and who might have tipped off those responsible to their robbery plans. With each killing, Driver finds himself face to face with Cop or Killer and he evades them every time. Killer wants Driver now more than ever - he's finally met a worthy opponent. Thus begins a do or die race to the list's finish with new details in the decade old murder emerging along the way...hinting that Driver's list may be incomplete and his life in further danger.

Russell Grant’s Daily Horoscopes for Wednesday 23rd March 2011

"Love and Dating: Aries

But once they’ve found the right one, they’re faithful, inventive and expressive."

Aries (Mar21/Apr20) Friends are getting in the way of what is best for you. Instead of seeking their approval, trust your instincts. Express your creative side in a direct, forceful way. Your work will shock and even offend some people, but that can’t be helped. If it’s any consolation, there will be a significant minority who are very comforted by your vision. Whenever someone sheds light on an unspoken taboo, liberation comes. Continue to develop your idea in private until it’s ready to be presented.
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) Take a more realistic view of your career goals. It may take you several years to get where you want. If that timetable doesn’t meet with your personal needs, build a new dream. Fortunately, there are forces at work that will put you on a brand new path quite quickly. There’s a good chance this field will involve cutting edge technology of some kind. Ask a friend who is happy with their job if they think you would be suited to it.
 .
Gemini (May22/Jun21) This isn’t the best time to schedule a holiday. Circumstances in your work life are about to change. It would be better if you were around to deal with any surprising announcements. Your boss could award you a promotion when one of the higher ups is dismissed. You’ll have to hit the ground running, but don’t worry. Find a way to bring products and services to a segment of the population that your company has never reached before.
 .
Cancer (Jun22/Jul23) Finance and romance don’t mix. Even if you’ve been involved in a long term commitment, you need a nest egg you can call your own. Open a savings account and put a portion of your income into it each week. Having a little money tucked away for a rainy day will give you an added measure of confidence. Single? Take this opportunity to make out a will. Making your desires known will take a great deal of strain off your loved ones.
 .
Leo (Jul24/Aug23) A contract or business deal isn’t as straightforward as you think. Don’t sign anything until a legal professional has had a chance to look it over. On the plus side, your love life is going extremely well. Sparks are flying between you and your amour. This is a great time to schedule an overseas trip together. Go somewhere you can soak up the sun and enjoy plenty of physical activity. You’re never happier than when you’re taking in the pleasures of the great outdoors.
 .
Virgo (Aug24/Sep23) The source of a health problem remains elusive. Keep a list of any aches, pains, or sleep changes you experience. Seemingly unrelated symptoms can actually have the same source. Fortunately, you’re highly attuned to your body, and do a better job than most in assessing how you feel. If you’re not happy with your current doctor, look around for somebody else. Your best friend, lover, or business partner will have an excellent recommendation.
 .
Libra (Sep24/Oct23) A juvenile outburst needs to be addressed. Normally, you’re easy going and agreeable. An unreasonable request will put you over the edge. You’re tired of bending over backwards to accommodate people who don’t appreciate your efforts. Fortunately, you have a wonderful opportunity to get paid for your creative talent. By pouring all of your energy into your job, instead of your relationships, you’ll get a surge of confidence. This will make it easier to assert your needs.
 .
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) Don’t fool yourself about family matters. A relative who has been struggling with an emotional problem or physical addiction needs professional help. The sooner you bring this issue out in the open, the better. Entering a contest will be good for you. Normally, you hate drawing attention to yourself. Right now you crave recognition. Putting an innovative spin on time honoured methods will earn you distinction. It will also lead to some impressive job offers.
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) It’s hard to make plans at this juncture, because you don’t know where your family situation will take you. Relations with a friend or relative will get strained. You’ve never placed much emphasis on sentiment, but your relative wants to preserve some precious memories. Try taking their feelings into account before disposing of certain items. If there’s a dispute over a valuable painting or piece of furniture, you may have to settle it through a lottery.
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) You’re not sure what is the best way to spend your money. Put off any expensive purchases for another time. You’ll find a much better deal in a few weeks, when retailers will be eager to unload old merchandise to make room for new things. Be forceful when defending an underdog to your neighbours. The person in question is struggling with terrible difficulties that are beyond their control. If you don’t stand up for their rights, nobody else will.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) People can’t get a handle on your chameleon like personality. It’s not that you are inauthentic. It’s just because you have many facets. Different aspects come out, depending on your surroundings. If you’re looking for work, you’ll have to elbow some rivals out of the way. The job market is very tight, and you can’t expect an employer to award you a position on sight. You’ll have to be your own advocate, which is difficult for you. You prefer to let your work speak for itself.
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) Beware of running away from your problems. The only way to conquer a fear is to face it. If that means putting yourself into a scary situation, so be it. The moment you challenge your psyche, you’ll be given an exciting reward. A job opportunity involving cutting edge technology will be offered quite suddenly. Don’t hesitate to grab it. The income from this position will be significant, and will allow you to travel to some far flung places.
