A Good Day For Love

The planets align for destiny
Source: California Psychics

There are callers who sometimes want to get dates for the coming month or year ahead. They want to know when the best astrological aspects might be lined up for love, communication or finances. An astrologer can look into a caller's chart and end up saying, "Wow, in November you'll have your best day of the year! Its days like that that give us something to look forward to," explains psychic and Astrologer Marti ext. 9057.

Also a Clairsentient, and a Channel who reads the Tarot, Marti has a regular caller who was initially obsessed with the future timing of her career. A workaholic, Jessica (not her real name) was a respected attorney, definitely headed toward great things. She was also popular with men, but only consulted with Marti on astrological aspects regarding court dates rather than more personal dates. After spending a quiet week at her family vacation home in Mexico, Jessica called to check in with Marti before heading back to work.

"I was journaling every day while I was away, and strangely, the guy I dated during my first year of college kept coming up in my thoughts. James (not his real name) moved east to go to school, and years later I heard he had become a district attorney. We had a wonderful, fun, intimate relationship. He moved and that was it. It just ended."

"Just before you left for your vacation," Marti responded, "do you recall my telling you that you were going to meet a man in a park? There'll be something about his eyes, and an obvious letter 'A'." Marti was getting the same message again.

"Yes, but his initials don't include an 'A,' and I can't get him out of my mind."

Marti loves to throw out a few cards from her Morgan-Greer Tarot deck even before she picks up the phone, and she was already getting a scenario for Jessica. "Since you never forgot his birthday, and it's coming up very soon, why don't you give him a call?"

Marti went on to explain that Cancer and Venus were trining her Jupiter, the planet of communication. "Any communication during that time will be good for you, but there is a risk involved - because Venus is on a square to your sun sign. But I think the risk is worth it."

"But I'm not looking for anything from him. I mean... I'm sure he's married or who knows, he may not remember me… I was just wondering about him," Jessica responded, surprised at Marti's suggestion.

"Your planets are pointing to a call! And it's just a birthday call," Marti told her in an encouraging tone, knowing that Jessica's aspects were nearly perfect for a good conversation.

With her usual matter-of-fact delivery, Jessica called Marti the following week and told her that she had spoken to James on his birthday - but he sounded different, she remarked. "Cold, sort of…" They had a friendly catch-up conversation, and he mentioned that he would be visiting his father in Washington D. C., an hour's drive from where she was working in Virginia. James asked if she'd be willing to meet him there for lunch. They agreed to meet at the Washington Memorial in three weeks.

"His voice was cold?" Marty asked. She knew Jessica was reading him wrong.

"Yes. I was surprised when he suggested we get together. He did say that he's single."

"The Washington Memorial is in a park," Marti reminded Jessica.

Jessica wasn't moved. "This is just two old friends getting together," she insisted, while Marti explored their planets.

On the day of the meeting, Venus would be trining Jessica's Mercury, and Venus was trining both James's and Jessica's Venus - which meant it would be a very good day for love. Jessica didn't seem to digest the news that her old flame was probably the guy for her.

Marti heard from Jessica about a month after the planned meeting and told her how it had gone. "When I arrived at the memorial I realized I had no idea what he looked like any more. There were people everywhere… it had been at least 15 years since I'd seen him." A man approached her whom she failed to recognize… she was leery. Was it James? He appeared cold and professional. He was bald, and he wore thick black-rimmed glasses. "He didn't look bad - he was trim and buff, and well-dressed, but his head was shaved, and he had those dark rimmed glasses. Luckily, when he said 'Jessica' and put his hand out, I recognized his voice. My first thought was, 'I'll just have lunch with him, and then politely excuse myself.'"

But after the pair had lunch they walked and talked for hours. James went to visit Jessica twice during his vacation, and she'd already been to see him in Los Angeles before she called Marti with another update.

"When we became intimate I saw a tattoo on his shoulder - it was the letter 'A'! I thought, 'Oh, Marti,' and I asked him whose initial it was. He laughed, and told me that the night he found out he had passed the bar exam, his buddies dared him to get the 'A for attorney' tattoo! I finally began to wonder if he was the one... The park, the unusual eyes, the letter A!"

Marti didn't hear from Jessica again for several months. Much later, the client explained that after she had met James, her work issues seemed to evaporate. When she did call, it was to check on the timing of her move to California to be with James. "On my next call, I'll be asking about a wedding date!"

Charm takes center stage by Cortney Litwin
Source: California Psychics

Angry eruptions can derail relationships at the start of the week, so strive to stay centered. Serenity resumes during the midweek love-fest, with sensual indulgence and charm peaking on Friday. This weekend, the Moon in Gemini takes witty repartee over the top. Have fun flirting! Best days for love: Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Week of July 13 - 19, 2009

Cancer: Irritations can be combustible at the start of the week, so try to avoid unstable people and situations. A group project can inspire a romantic interlude midweek, or a friend may match you up with someone fabulous. Role-playing and other sexy games percolate your desires this weekend, so use your imagination!

Leo: You may get the urge to revamp your long-term plans at the start of the week. Listen to your intuition. An exotic atmosphere makes passion soar on Tuesday. Think sensuality (a massage or good food) to inspire romance in the middle of the week. Networking at friendly gatherings can bring both love and a career opportunity this weekend.

Virgo: An intimate moment can get complicated (jealousy? control issues? secrecy?) at the beginning of the week. Your midweek sensuality is irresistible, so plan an enticing rendezvous. Also, romance might be found during a class or a spiritual activity. Friday is especially hot! Playful exchanges bring out your lusty side this weekend, so be creative.

Libra: Your partner may be argumentative or controlling on Monday, but sexy quality time can set things right on Tuesday. An artsy or natural environment inspires romance in the middle of the week. It's time to get out of your brain, and into your body. Passion escalates in an exotic ambiance or during a trip this weekend. Saturday is especially romantic!

Scorpio: You're feeling lusty-but-unreachable at the start of the week. Sharing your feelings will inspire intimacy. A midweek twosome brings delight. If you're solo, stay open to finding love. Expressing what you want in the boudoir heats up passion this weekend!

Sagittarius: Love is wild or confrontational on Monday, when cooperation and compromise are difficult. Passion soars on Tuesday. An outdoor activity can rev up romance in the middle of the week, when love requires a leisurely approach. Feelings are likely exaggerated on Friday. Shared activities, ideas and feelings inspire love this weekend, so think in terms of two!

Capricorn: An overreaction can unhinge the start of your week, so take some time to get centered. Romance is sweet and sexy midweek, especially on Thursday - plan an enticing rendezvous, or keep your eyes open for someone new. Your creativity is on fire, too. A mind-to-mind connection revs up romance this weekend, so share your brainpower!

Aquarius: Rash words can derail love at the start of the week. You'll want to be careful while traveling, too. A homey date with plenty of good food and drink inspires love toward the middle of the week. Slow down and enjoy the moment. Romance soars into the stratosphere this weekend - especially on Saturday - so open your heart and enjoy!

Pisces: You may need to take a stand for your ideas or feelings on Monday. Look for a moneymaking opportunity on Tuesday. Words of love inspire romance midweek, so express what's in your heart. A trip for two can bring a lusty interlude as well! Entertaining a gathering of friends (or just that special someone) brings joy to the weekend.

Aries: Tempers flare easily at the beginning of the week, although by Tuesday you'll mostly likely be feeling passion instead of peevishness. Love is slow and sensual toward the middle of the week, so take your time with your significant other - both in and out of the bedroom. You're likely to overspend on Friday. Sharing your sense of humor and your insights inspires love this weekend.

Taurus: You may be irritated easily for no apparent reason at the start of the week. A serene environment will help reset your equilibrium. Your natural sexiness makes you irresistible toward the middle of the week, although you'll be tempted to overindulge (food? drink? sex?) on Friday. Lighten up and have some fun to rev up romance this weekend, especially on Saturday!

Gemini: A friend or group project can be troublesome at the start of the week. Enticing, cozy surroundings (a home-cooked meal, music, candles) at your abode can inspire romance midweek. Get physical! Keep your eyes open for a moneymaking opportunity, as well. Your powers of attraction skyrocket this weekend. Plan a tantalizing twosome on Saturday.

The Art of Harmony

How do you get it?

by Psychic Verbena, ext 9615
Source: California Psychics

Some people find harmony by striding down a crowded, bustling urban street, hammering out a deal on their Blackberry. For others harmony is found in silence, space, big trees and solitude. Harmony happens most easily when you're living the life you want. You're doing what floats your boat, and life just feels right.

Unlike harmony in music, math or physics, each person's experience of life harmony is unique. But because we live in a world of contrast and change, any sense of harmony that depends on outer circumstances is bound to be jostled and knocked out of alignment - sometimes frequently.

Out of harmony
Challenges in health, love, money or work are hard to avoid, and some are easier to restore to harmony than others. But what can really mess with your mind is impending change - especially change that seems to be out of your hands, when events appear to be moving you away from what you want. Sometimes they seem to keep going in the wrong direction no matter how hard you struggle.

Or you could be experiencing the kind of soul-deep restlessness and incompleteness that usually indicates it's time for you to make a change, no matter how much you hate the thought. For some, though, even getting close to a sense of harmony seems impossible. If you've grown up in challenging circumstances, or recently been hammered by difficulties- or if your experience tells you that life just isn't on your side, and that there's nothing you can do to change it - harmony seems to exist in another universe entirely.

Find and keep it
To put it simply, maintaining harmony is about finding your center. This is easiest to define in martial arts terms. The martial arts teach that your center is an actual place in your body which, when you focus there, allows you to move immediately in any direction with speed, balance and strength.

You can find the same kind of center in your mind, emotions and spirit if you cultivate an attitude of mind and heart that allows you to respond in the moment to any situation with calm and optimism. Once you know how to get to that place and stay there, harmony is yours.

History
For at least as long as there's been written language, philosophers in every culture have recorded their thoughts about how to maintain harmony, and they pretty much agree that it's all about a positive attitude. No matter how it is achieved - meditation, non-attachment, faith, trust, or self-confidence - a positive attitude is at the core of a harmonious existence.

Of course, self-confidence is a powerful basis for your positive attitude. If you believe in your heart and soul that you can cope with anything, then many of life's fears won't get you down. But self-confidence isn't enough to keep you in a state of harmony by itself. You can have full faith in your ability to cope with anything and still be desperately unhappy. So what's the missing ingredient?

Staying power
If you have a spiritual practice that sustains and nourishes you, or if your friends, family, or spiritual community is very supportive of you - or if you believe in a higher power that always works toward well being - then you have found one of the two best paths to harmony.

But very often a person's spiritual practice leads them to an even more powerful path, grounding them in a spiritual reality that can sustain or restore harmony like magic. It seems like the opposite of self-confidence - and yet, amazingly, it confers a deeper and more permanent level of confidence, one that is rooted in a sense of being one with the Divine. It is something that is activated by your open, optimistic participation in life.

Buddhists define this state as one of non-attachment. It means you're willing to let go of control, to accept the situation when challenges and changes crop up. Experience or faith (or both) have taught you that it's a good idea to go along for the ride - first, because it's more restful than struggling, but also (and even more importantly) because very often your higher power is creating something far better than you could have imagined on your own. You just need to stay centered, and alert to the possibilities along the way.

When you're able to take what comes - to go through life with your head up, your eyes open and a delighted interest in everything that occurs, because you just know that the future is a gift waiting to for you to unwrap it - then harmony will become your natural state.

Frolicking Summer Flicks

Staff picks for the season
Source: California Psychics

The mercury is rising, vacations are afoot, and we're all feeling the urge to get out there and enjoy a few adventures. Alas, there are bound to be days when it's too hot to go outside and play - so we've put together a selection of films that will let you frolic inside, as well.

Two of them will be in theatres near you this summer - plus, a selection of old summer favorites is available on DVD - all are Frolic Factor and Sunny Side rated, for best enlightenment and entertainment value. Whether you're looking for laughs, are on a quest for romance or you simply wish to escape into a fantastic world on the edge of dreams - this list offers many hours of summer distraction.

New flicks...

Cherie

Lavish lawn parties. Exquisite costumes. Love, betrayal and Paris. It's everything you need in a salacious period piece. Set in 1920s Paris, it tells the story of Lea - a stunning courtesan to the social elite (Michelle Pfeiffer) is asked to hold off on retirement until she can teach her ex-rival's 19-year-old son a thing or two about sex and society. Though initially indifferent to Lea's advances, the young man discovers that the game of love can be scandalously invigorating.

Frolic factor: Rupert Friend, the film's star, may not be well known to American moviegoers, but his obscurity won't last long once audiences get a glimpse at his jaw-dropping good looks.

Sunny side: The sets, locations, and photography are rich and lush - and Michelle Pfieffer always manages to pull off the role of seductress with such verve!

Julie & Julia
The film chronicles the life of renowned chef Julia Child (Meryl Streep), and that of real-life Internet figure Julie (Amy Adams) - a young woman who, lacking a solid career path, decides to cook all 524 recipes in Child's infamous first volume of Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Bouncing back and forth in time between the life of the master and that of the optimistic protégé, we are reminded that sometimes not knowing what you don't know brings about remarkable self-discovery.

Frolic factor: What is there to say? Meryl Streep is brilliant, as usual. Her portrayal of the beloved Child is a joy.

Sunny side: The promise of chicken being dropped on the floor during a live broadcast, and Amy Adams finding the meaning of life amidst culinary catastrophe, makes for a cinematic feast.

Oldies but goodies...

Heaven Can Wait (1978)
This one was, of course, directed by the McDreamy of the flared-pants era - Warren Beatty - who also stars in it as a successful football quarterback who is almost killed in a car accident… almost. The problem is, an overzealous angel transports his soul to the afterlife only to discover he wasn't meant to die after all. To make matters worse, his body has been cremated. Now the only way to resume his true destiny is to assume another person's body. And the only one available belongs to a self-serving millionaire! Funny, charming and just what you need to get ready for football season.

Frolic factor: The onscreen chemistry between Beatty and co-star Julie Christie is incredibly genuine, as the two happened to have been off-screen lovers at the time the film was made. More impressive is the gentle handling of romance, which is seldom so poetic and subtle in today's films.

Sunny side: The profound words of Mr. Jordan (played by the distinguished James Mason) contain so much spiritual wisdom that you can't help but secretly hope this fictitious character will indeed be your own personal concierge at the end of your life.

La Dolce Vita (1960)
This is the ultimate frolic film. La Dolce Vita - The Sweet Life is one of Federico Fellini's classics, and a film long considered by scholars to be among the greatest achievements of world cinema. In typical Fellini fashion, the movie lacks traditional, linear plot structure. Instead, the story features an array of effervescent socialites dancing, drinking and creating scandals for the paparazzi one summer in Rome.

Frolic factor: This truly is an "art film." Crazy camera angles, abrupt close-ups, symbolic imagery - it's all there, setting the stage for the debauchery that unfolds.

Sunny side: Watching La Dolce Vita is like having an out-of-body experience.

Moulin Rouge! (2001)
Even if you're not a fan of musicals, you'll be impressed by the ingenious integration of pop/rock hits in this enchanting love story. Set at the infamous Moulin Rouge, the film tells the story of Christian and Satine, a poet and a performer (Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, respectively), who are desperately in love - but unable to be together because Satine has been betrothed to a wealthy duke who is the theater's one and only benefactor.

Frolic factor: Stylized direction, good fashion, oversaturated colors and fun, whimsical sets make this film a visual dazzler.

Sunny side: True love prevails!

Summer movies are a wonderful way to escape the heat - and take a break from whatever's going on in your own life, good and bad. Happy viewing...

Sex It Up – Without Sex!

The ultimate plan for better sex by S.K. Smith
Source: California Psychics

If you're looking to turn up the heat in any meaningful relationship, it's time to renew your thinking. All it requires is that you remember an old saying - and its modern twist. Absence makes the heart grow fonder - and it can make your other bits feel warm and fuzzy as well!

The premise is simple. We often want what we can't have, or at least we think we do. Usually, what we really need is a simple reminder of just how good we've actually got it! So, by nixing the nookie for a little while in favor of some extended foreplay, you'll find yourselves thinking of each other day and night, longing to see, smell, taste and touch each other - and you'll expand your romantic repertoire to spice up your sex life for the long haul.

Here's your guide to sexing it up - without sex.

Pressure drop
One of the quickest ways for sex to become boring and staid is for one or both of the partners to feel like they're doing it out of obligation. The excitement is gone, but the expectation (we're supposed to have sex, right?) remains. As a result, positions become habitual, and orgasms are perfunctory... No wonder lovemaking feels like a drag!

To rid yourselves of this "rollover" routine, remove the expectations altogether. In fact, go in the opposite direction, toward a spot of abstinence. Agree to not have sex for a night. Or two - or ten. Your kisses and touches, which may have devolved into customary warmups for the scheduled surrender, will become genuine expressions of affection and adulation. By ruling out anything other than a modest makeout session, you'll find new ways to express love and desire - as well as amping up for future endeavors.

Fantasy fodder
Having decided not to do the deed, you may be concerned that you won't even think about it. Odds are, it will be exactly the opposite. By removing your regular release from the repertoire, you'll likely have sex on the brain even more, which will lead to indulging in flights of fantasy. Make it a point to share these thoughts with your partner (being sure to include them, of course), and ask that they do the same. Let each other know that you're thinking about doing x, y or z and you may be surprised by the surge in intimacy you experience, and how it increases the sexual tension between you.

Manual transmission
Once you've agreed to go without, and you've indulged in the exchange of your sexual thoughts and fantasies, introduce a little more intensity into the equation with a sexy two-way massage. Light some
candles, play a sultry song playlist and go to town on each other, using only your hands - and maybe, if the mood srikes, your mouths. The point is to enjoy each other, and above all else, not to rush.

Remember what you learn

The most important point of all this restraint is that you take the information you've learned about each other - and the renewed passion and closeness you likely feel - back into your sex life once you reintroduce the deed. Preventing monotony in love takes work, and it may require revisiting the fornication-free zone on occasion, in order to dig yet more deeply into your relationship's sexual potential.

A Secret Life

Will it come back to haunt you?
Source: California Psychics

We were surprised to find out that many callers to CaliforniaPsychics.com lead secret lives, and others are the "secret" in someone else's life. Our psychics tell us the majority of their clients who have added a clandestine path to their life's journey are involved in affairs outside their relationships. Many call in to find out how their double lives are affecting their karma, and others want to free themselves of guilt.

Though our psychics feel that it is not their job to judge as they work with each case individually, they also believe that carrying secrets around will influence one's spiritual journey. Secrets in general are not healthy. They can lead to a higher good, some psychics argue, but they usually have a spiraling downward effect, and they can be painful to all involved.

"I believe that we operate in a world where the energy you put out there is the energy you get back. If you are hiding something now, something will be hidden from you," counsels Joyce ext. 9598. "This pattern is inevitable, and has been repeatedly taught throughout history, from "do unto others..." to the more-scientific and physical version of the same idea, "every action has an equal and opposite reaction."

"I myself have had a secret life in my past, and I have learned from this lesson that it does produce karma. Secrets produce trust issues in the future for all parties, and all parties can, and usually do, get hurt," BlackHawk ext. 9353 asserts. "You may find out that you should not be in one or both relationships, if an affair is your secret, but if you are going to cheat on someone, you should not be in that relationship in the first place - unless you agree to an open relationship first."

The problem with a secret life is that the words imply dishonesty, "which, regarding one's karma, is rarely a good thing," reports Jonathan ext. 9601. "As with most everything in life, the more one is dishonest, the easier it is to have dishonesty spill into other areas of life. That being said, I don't allow these generalities to affect my readings. There have been times when the secret life was actually the right path for the client, and the mistake was an earlier decision."

"Intent" is as important as the action, some psychics say, especially when it comes to understanding the "positives" of secret lives. Having a secret life can affect a caller's journey in life in various ways, believes Althea ext. 9582, whose specialty is helping customers focus on their paths. "If one's secret is the existence of self-improvement and developing a new skill, or education level… this can be positive, as well as a secret life that may involve elements of being unfaithful, as long as it is aiding the caller to gain a level of self-confidence that will aid them in leaving a bad or abusive relationship. If one sets out to hurt another by keeping a secret, this will likely breed karmic retribution."

Even if you have the best of intentions, when the secret life you have chosen causes pain to others you are often causing harm to yourself as well. Ironically, what drives folks to live in secret is fear, and when we fear something we attract more of the same, psychics say.

"Dishonesty often brings with it guilt, depression, paranoia… and these can torture the person living that secret life," explains Debra ext. 9596, who specializes in relationships.

Darcy ext. 9488 adds that because "the secret" in a secret life goes unspoken, the ultimate reason for that life being hidden is unwillingness to face a reality and to see that life for what it is. The lie to one's self, as she sees over and over again, can result in an unconscious need to be stopped - or even punished.

In order to be fulfilled and happy in life, one must first stand in their truth, our psychics remind us. "If we could be honest with each other about these things without fear or recrimination, we could erase this karmic situation completely," Joyce concludes." There are no easy answers in these complicated situations, except the truth. In the light of the truth, we are absolved."

Spiritual Thinker: Marianne Williamson

A modern approach to destiny
Source: California Psychics

Internationally acclaimed spiritual author and lecturer Marianne Williamson has written nine New Age books to date - including four #1 New York Times bestsellers. She has lectured on metaphysical topics all over the world, and is a minister in the Unity church.

She also founded Project Angel Food (a meals-on-wheels service for homebound people with debilitating diseases such as AIDS), and she co-founded The Peace Alliance, which campaigns for legislation to establish a U.S. Department of Peace.

She gained worldwide fame after Oprah endorsed her book, A Return to Love, during a show in 1992. The book is about Williamson's experiences as a teacher of A Course in Miracles, a channeled work by Dr. Helen Schucman and Dr. William Thetford that combines many of the principles of Christianity, Eastern philosophies, mysticism and psychology. Such themes include the tug-of-war between God and ego, knowledge and perception, truth and illusion. Currently, she hosts a weekly radio show on Oprah and Friends, and a daily podcast called MiracleThought on Oprah.com.

Looking at all she has accomplished, one would think she was born with her destiny laid out in front of her. Not so. She floundered early on with an identity crisis and low self-esteem, which propelled her into a series of incompatible relationships and temporary jobs, including an unsuccessful stint as a jazz singer in New York.

In the 1970s she discovered A Course in Miracles, and everything changed. This discipline helped define her spiritual life, and it gave her a sense of purpose. Let's explore her astrology chart, to see where her exceptional spiritual focus comes from.

Williamson was born in Houston, Texas, on July 8, 1953. The focal point of her chart is Uranus, the sign of enlightenment, brotherhood and individuality. Although she has Sun and Venus in Cancer, conjunctions to Uranus give the normally home-centered sign an undeniable penchant for personal growth. Uranus also lends her an unconventional personality that craves freedom - she is individualistic, and dislikes being confined by tradition.

Cancer is ruled by the Moon - it's the sign of emotions, femininity and motherhood. Although Williamson was married briefly and has a daughter from another relationship, she doesn't share the domestic focus so common to Cancers. Still, the sign shows up in other ways. Her book, Emma & Mommy Talk to God, advocates nourishing children's souls through spiritual principles. In A Woman's Worth, Williamson offers insights about the modern feminine path. Other books focus on intimacy, and on healing emotional issues. As for her creativity, Mercury in dramatic Leo bestowed the gift of storytelling upon her. Williamson's books have a compelling personal quality that comes from both the Cancer and the Leo placements.

Another focal point in Williamson's chart is Neptune, which squares the Cancer placements. Neptune is the planet of spirituality and oneness. The center of Williamson's teachings is faith in a higher power, the power of prayer - and loving oneself and others without judgment. These are all Neptunian themes.

Neptune is also the planet of delusion. Williamson's lack of purpose and identity were the result of an afflicted Neptune. Great spiritual focus can overcome the negative effects of this tricky planet, and Williamson is an excellent example of what can happen when one embraces the positive energy of Neptune. Also, her Moon in practical Capricorn counteracts the nebulous effects of Neptune, by giving her some emotional grounding.

As for romance, an unconventional love life suits her perfectly. With such a strong Uranus, she undoubtedly prefers to be independent. Venus in Cancer often associates love with motherhood -and in 1990 Williamson became a single mother to daughter India Emmaline. Because Cancer rules nourishment, Project Angel Food is also the perfect outlet for her nurturing instincts.

Mars in Scorpio indicates an extremely strong will. Williamson can appear temperamental and uncooperative at times, especially when she feels strongly about something. She's stubborn, determined and deeply emotional. She refers to herself as "the bitch of God." Mars in Scorpio also gives her tremendous healing power, and the ability to help others transform their lives.

In A Return to Love, Williamson proclaims that we don't fear our inadequacies as much as we do our spiritual power. She advises us to share who we truly are: "And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same."

Let your own light be an inspiration to others.

Need a Better Partner? Let go to let love in

Source: California Psychics

You can't make a relationship work all by yourself. If you're the one putting in all the effort, then it just won't last. It takes two to tango. And if there's only one person on the dance floor, it's time to find another partner, says Darlene ext. 9563.

This was the lesson she shared with Mary (not her real name), a 32-year-old writer from Los Angeles who had decided to call on a whim for some strength and support. "I am addicted to a man," she confessed, with some embarrassment. "We've been in a relationship for three years, but the relationship has changed dramatically. At first Spence (not his real name) was pursuing me, but now he really isn't committed. I only see him every two weeks."

Mary was sick of feeling like an emotional yo-yo. She wanted help. Darlene, who has been giving professional readings for 25 years, asked Mary to repeat his name three times.

"I could tell right away that Spence wasn't an easy man. He was a handful- a pussycat one day, and a vicious leopard the next," she explained. Darlene also confirmed that he was emotionally unavailable. She could also detect a streak of anger toward women, which she believed stemmed from his relationship with his mother. And he had a hard time communicating - deep down inside, he wasn't happy with himself.

"Don't I know it," Mary retorted. Darlene had described her lover to a T.

Mary had attracted an angry man who was unable to express his emotions. And yet, recalls Darlene, they had incredible chemistry. "She was truly addicted to him. Every few weeks she would expel him from her life, and then she'd fall off the love-wagon. The attraction was that strong." Darlene went on to tell her that Spence had closed himself off to her, and didn't have the emotional tools to change. Spence loved her, but didn't have what it took to grow in a spiritual way.

"But he keeps coming around - he must want me," Mary suggested.

"Good heavens! I have to say that I believe the cards rather than what people say. This is your life, and I don't believe you are getting what you deserve," Darlene told her emphatically. The line got really quiet, all of a sudden.

Darlene continued, telling her client had that she had major abandonment issues, and that she was playing them out with Spence. Instead of realizing that she was wasting her time, she kept trying to make amends and "fix" things.

As the conversation progressed, Mary revealed that she had indeed tried her best. She had gone to Al-Anon to learn not to control him (or his drinking habits), she had put up with his impetuous nature, and she had repeatedly forgiven his negative comments. Enough was enough. How long was she going to waste on this guy? she finally asked herself - and Darlene. What did he give her back besides great sex and a few laughs?

Darlene strongly suggested that Mary let the relationship go. It wasn't going to be over until she stood up for herself. Spence was content with seeing her occasionally, just for sex. The psychic added that she saw the possibility of Mary meeting a new man on the horizon, but the timing would be off unless she made space in her heart to love again. She also suggested that Mary read Ask & It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

It took a few more failed attempts but eventually Mary cut Spence out of her life - cold turkey. She worked hard not to call him, text him or respond to his emails. She even went to Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous, per Darlene's advice. Mary kept in touch with Darlene, and read the book she had suggested. It took six months, but she let him go and made space in her heart. In time, she could clearly see that they were not a good match, and that he'd been stringing her along.

"And then one night she met another man on the dance floor," Darlene relates happily. "He is just the complete opposite of her ex - giving, open, spiritual and mature. Fortunately, she had healed her heart and was able to open up to him . . . So, now she has an actual partner to shimmy through life with."

Weekly LoveCast Passion and confidence escalate

by Cortney Litwin
Source: California Psychics

Tuesday's Full Moon eclipse in Capricorn supports commitment, but a Neptune affliction to Venus and Mars fosters unrealistic expectations and mixed messages. Midweek is all about friendship and group gatherings, but the weekend favors sharing your spiritual vision - and adding a touch of fantasy to spice up your sex life! Best day for love: Wednesday.

Week of July 6 - 12, 2009

Cancer: The Full Moon at the start of the week energizes interactions with your partner, or heightens your chances of attracting someone new. Shared ideas can deepen love on Wednesday. Reminiscing about the past or discussing your spiritual views inspires romance, from midweek through Friday. Love is mystifying on Saturday, and delightfully sinful on Sunday!

Leo: Shared work or lending a helping hand inspires love during the Full Moon at the start of the week. Just be sure you're communicating clearly. Flirting during a group activity makes passion soar on Wednesday! Friends bring fun and insights midweek through Friday, so plan a get-together. Focus on a deeper heart connection to inspire romance this weekend.

Virgo: Romance gets a dose of sizzle from the Full Moon at the beginning of the week. On the downside, a misunderstanding may be at work. Your sense of humor attracts admirers on Wednesday, so show off your wit! Analyzing past and present relationships will prompt a breakthrough by Friday. Head and heart clash on Saturday, but Sunday is soulful.

Libra: The Full Moon favors entertaining at home, or just enjoying a homey date with your lover. Create an enticing atmosphere. Passion escalates during a glorious round of flirting on Wednesday! Use your creative talents to rev up romance from the middle of the week through Friday. Love seems irrational on Saturday. Use your imagination to fire things up on Sunday.

Scorpio: Flirting is on fire during the Full Moon, but avoid game-playing while you're having fun. Talking about your emotional and sexual desires on Wednesday can take your love life to the next level! Analyzing romance sheds light on the future of your love by Friday. Be creative in the boudoir to make passion escalate this weekend, especially on Sunday.

Sagittarius: Tuesday's Full Moon illuminates (and perhaps challenges) what you value most in relationships, and in other areas of your life. Hiding the truth, however, can derail love - so be honest. Speaking from the heart will accelerate things on Wednesday through Friday. A homey date in an exotic atmosphere revs up the weekend!

Capricorn: Tuesday's Full Moon in your sign heightens your powers of attraction all week, but you'll need to be clear about your intentions. Surprising your sweetie with a night out will ignite some fireworks on Wednesday, or possibly Friday. Focus on being best friends, too. A mix-up can upset your plans on Saturday. Flirting sets passion ablaze on Sunday!

Aquarius: Talking about the past can heighten the connection between you and your sweetie during the Full Moon at the start of the week. Yet you may feel elusive about commitment. Your charisma kicks into high gear from Wednesday through Friday, while your intuition is especially strong. Sharing the guidance of your heart will attract and inspire love on the weekend.

Pisces: Socializing with friends energizes you during Tuesday's Full Moon. It's also time to be clear about what you want in love - and express it. In the middle of the week your psychic ability can illuminate the future of your love life. You're especially sensitive (and alluring) on Friday. A miscommunication is likely to derail love on Saturday, but you're irresistible on Sunday!

Aries: The Full Moon can make you cautious about love at the beginning of the week, when work or other responsibilities may interrupt your social plans. Wednesday is a good time to discuss your dreams for the future. Look for romance during an outing with friends, midweek through Friday. An enticing, sexy environment revs up romance this weekend, especially on Sunday!

Taurus: You might feel a tug-of-war between your career and your personal life at the start of the week, because of the Full Moon - but don't let your practical side overpower your aspirations. A colleague offers insights on Wednesday. Romance can be found during a career activity from the middle of the week through Friday. Friends instigate a romantic interlude this weekend.

Gemini: The Full Moon energizes intimacy at the beginning of the week, if mixed messages don't unhinge your plans. Romance escalates on Wednesday, when your brainpower makes you irresistible - so flirt intelligently! A trip or spiritual activity can inspire a romantic interlude midweek through Friday. Use your intuition and sensitivity to inspire love this weekend.

Music For Meditation Sounds to enhance your soul

by Calliope Hart
Source: California Psychics

Music for meditation can add an inspiring element to your mindful day
or spiritual practice, whether you're looking for a way to take your
breath work to a deeper state of awareness, or are new to meditation
and need help aligning with your higher self.

Through the ages, sacred music and soulful sounds have played a part in spiritual meditative traditions all over the world - they help to bring us closer to a feeling of universal oneness. From the calming, soothing and spiritually stirring sounds of monastery bells and zen-related wind instruments and on to the soulful chants of Tibetan and Buddhist monks - right up to the modern nonmelodic strains of electronic music, specifically created to vibrate with the cellular experiences of inner peace and well-being - these sounds have long enhanced the practice of meditation.

Call and response
The ambient sounds of music for meditation help you focus on your breathing, reduce stress, and slow down your heartrate - even your brainwaves - to help you turn your attention inward. "The power of music to induce or enhance deep states of relaxation has been strongly supported by scientific studies, dating back to the 1800s" reports psychologist John Ortiz, the author of The Tao of Music. Ortiz points out that when you choose meditation music that resonates with your inner being, it can help you quiet your mind more quickly and deeply - and help you stay centered much more easily.

However, not just any music will do. The best music to "Om" by is slower than your usual iPod fare. It doesn't feature a melody, or lyrics that you can follow. Unlike most song lyrics, chanting songs are monotone - or simply vocalized prayers that allow you to be in harmony with the prayer, and not worry where the melody is going.

If you're not familiar with the wide variety of meditation CDs that are out there, here's a little insight into some of the most sought-after compilations:

Meditation for beginners
Some of our favorite gurus, such as Deepak Chopra, Andrew Weil, Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle have guided mediation CDs that move you into a deeper consciousness, and to help you align with your higher self. Gamma Meditations, one of Dr. Jeffrey Hunter's Brainwave Series, incorporates mesmerizing sonic sounds and relaxing meditation suggestions, which are at just the right frequency to activate a natural state of attunement with the universe.

Inner peace music
One of the most prolific producers of contemplative music is Steven Halpern, whose Chakra Suite is one of the best selling meditation CDs ever. Try his Relaxation Suite, with its "Mello Cello" and "Dharma Duet" tracks. The CD features melodic sounds of the cello, flute, piano and harp. Considered the pioneer in the field of effective soundscapes for meditation, Halpern has been creating electronic musical experiences as a background for heightening self-awareness in meditation, relaxation, sleep - and even driving more mindfully - for 33 years.

If electronic music doesn't relax you, there are the classic zen sounds of Riley Lee on the shakuhachi flute. The simple bamboo instrument featured on Music for Zen Meditation is a more traditional accompaniment to meditation, with its uncomplicated, soothing pieces with titles such as "Tranquil, In Time Suspended," and "Echo of the Sacred."

Spiritual chants
The sounds and chants of Tibetan monks, with their gongs and singing bowls, appeal to many. But the spiritual tradition of yoga has also brought about a long list of chanting chanteuses, including new-age chart topper Deva Premal. Moola Mantra, one of her many popular CDs, is a unique version of the Sanskrit mantra, accompanied by Indian fusion sounds. Brand new in new-age stores is Kundalini Meditation Music, featuring seven 10- to 14-minute chants. Each features different blessings - from prosperity to healing.

If you're a newbie to meditating with music, choose a CD - or even just one track - that you can play on repeat. It should be one that you find deeply soothing. You might want to begin your meditation with this progressive relation exercise. If you use headphones it might make it easier for the sounds to help you relax.

Sit comfortably, and breathe in and out slowly and deeply. Then allow the meditative sounds to enter your feet. Release your tension by focusing on the music. Move up the body from the feet to your head, repeating the entire exercise and always allowing the sound frequencies to relax your body and open your mind. When you have completed the exercise, continue to breathe in the sounds in the clearness of your mind.

Whether you download the music of the ocean, or listen to slowed-down classics, New Age CDs with mainstream appeal like Enya - or the vibrational sounds of echoing Tibetan bowls - to play as background music to your meditation, choose music that you personally find calming, centering and reflective. These meditative soundscapes also work well to reduce stress while you are working, or to set a serene mood around the house. And many, once you're comfortably tucked in to bed, will lull you right to sleep!

What moves you? Let a psychic offer guidance. Call 1.800.573.4830 or click here now.

Venus and Mars in Gemini Your mind and heart meld

Weekly Horoscopes
Saturday 4th July - Saturday 11th July - Saturday 18th July- Saturday 25th July

Source: California Psychics

Flirting and other lively talks kick into high gear when Venus and Mars enter witty Gemini this month. On July 5, 2009, Venus transits into the sign of communications, with Mars following on the 11th. It's time to express what's on your mind and in your heart!

As the relationship planet, Venus inspires expressions of love, so now is an excellent time to articulate your feelings to your significant other (or to anyone else you care about). Venus in Gemini can make it easier to discuss troubling issues in your relationship. So whether you've been procrastinating bringing up a difficult subject, or just need to express your love and appreciation, this influence will help you get your ideas across with grace and clarity.

What's more, because Gemini rules travel, you might find yourself enjoying a romantic interlude while on a trip. If you're already paired, a trip for two can rev up the romance between you. And since Venus is all about love, romantic and otherwise, traveling with friends can bring joy as well.

Mars, on the other hand, is all about passion. It energizes whatever sign it's transiting through. Not surprising, Mars in Gemini takes sexy repartee to a whole new level. You can use this influence to heat up the sheets with some verbal naughtiness (or at least cleverness). A little humor in the boudoir will keep your relationship fresh.

But don't stop with pillow talk - promoting your ideas at work is favored as well. Gemini is logical, clear-headed and straightforward. As such, it's a good time to enter into discussions that require a factual approach and step-by-step analysis. Just watch out for argumentativeness, the downside of Mars in Gemini. Also, Mars can accelerate your mental energy to the point of exhaustion. Too much of a good thing will throw you off balance. So if you find yourself suffering from brain-drain, try taking frequent breaks - and get physical. Taking a quick stroll outside the office or working out at the gym during your lunch break will help you stay grounded, focused and energetic.

To get more specific, find out how you can capitalize on Venus and Mars in Gemini by reading your Sun and Ascendant signs below.

Air signs
Gemini, Libra and Aquarius will experience increased perceptiveness, clarity and creativity. Gemini will be empowered to express their needs and desires in their personal life. Libra will experience heightened intuition about the future, so discussing where a relationship is headed can bring clarity. Aquarius will find creativity in everything, which can inspire heartfelt words that deepen love.

Fire signs
Aries
, Leo and Sagittarius will feel the urge to act on their ideas, especially in social situations. Aries will find their power of persuasion heightened in both romantic and professional pursuits. Leo can attract personal and professional opportunities by networking during friendly gatherings and community events. Sagittarius will be motivated to improve communications in a relationship, or to use their humor and braininess to attract a new partner.

Earth signs
Taurus
, Virgo and Capricorn can tap into brainpower to accelerate prosperity. Taurus may discover a creative or practical idea that opens a financial door. Virgo can enhance their career by promoting ideas and networking with colleagues. Capricorn will be empowered to promote ideas at work and can find romance through philanthropic and health-related activities.

Water signs
Cancer
, Scorpio and Pisces will be focusing on intimate ties and healing the past. Cancer will accelerate their aspirations by examining and talking about the past - including past lives - and letting go of negativity. Scorpio can deepen intimacy by healing old emotional wounds and talking about sexual needs. Pisces will be especially creative at home and can find opportunities through family members.

However you choose to express yourself this month, strive to share your mind, heart and soul with those you care about the most.

Independence in Love 5 tips to not lose yourself

Weekly Horoscopes
Saturday 4th July - Saturday 11th July - Saturday 18th July- Saturday 25th July - Saturday 27th June

by S. K. Smith

Source: California Psychics

Maintaining a sense of individuality is a common problem in most relationships, and there are a zillion reasons why. For starters, you and your partner spend so much free time together that your lives begin to blend. Then there's the reality that as time passes, you may forget what you did before you were together.

Even if you do remember all your old pastimes, your "you time" takes a backseat to shared "us time." After all, there are couple commitments that come into play (dinner parties, work events, household chores). Nevermind the fact that at a certain point, it's just easier to plop down on the sofa together than it is to motivate yourself on your own. The trouble is, by merging completely, not only do couples lose their senses of individuality, their happiness levels decrease… and their relationships suffer.

Remember, it takes two complete halves to make one whole. So if either or both of you are struggling to remember who you are or what makes you happy beyond the confines of your partnership, it's time for a reality check. Maintaining autonomy is essential to the success of any pairing. Try these tips to help you do just that.

Your friends love you...
Sadly, one of the first things to happen as we pair off is that our friends (particularly the single ones) can be forgotten. They fall by the wayside in favor of spending every waking non-work moment with our new lovers. Inevitably, forgetting your friends will fail you. Humans are social beings and we need each other to commiserate and identify with in good times and bad. Sure, your mate can provide most things a friend can, but no one person can be all things to anyone. You're bound to have things in common with your friends that you don't with your mate… even if it's just shared experience. Besides, if you have no one else in your life to hang out with, not only will you and your amour eventually run out of topics to talk about, you'll find your life much less fulfilling!

Whether it's going out for dinner, grabbing after work drinks or hitting the beach/bookstore on a Saturday afternoon, set aside in-person time for your friends. Emails and phone calls count as contact, sure, but when it comes to fostering a sense of personal satisfaction and history, the power of face-to-face interaction cannot be overstated!

Nix neediness
Sometimes, we worry that if we're not with our partner, they'll forget about us - or worse, cheat! If these are your feelings, however, your partner's not the problem - your insecurity is. Being too needy in a relationship (demanding too much time and attention, denying your partner - and yourself - the time to maintain a balanced life, questioning their every move), only leads to disaster. It creates an imbalance of power that leaves you feeling dependent on your mate for your happiness. Believe it or not, you're not in the driver's seat when you're dictating every moment… you're giving fear the upper hand. On that note, it may seem counterintuitive but…

Give your partner space
Everybody appreciates a little space every once in awhile to do whatever it is we feel like doing. And believe it or not - sometimes those things are best done solo. A hot, relaxing bath, a sappy, cry-your-eyes out movie rental, a video game marathon or an adult-ed class… whatever it is that rejuvenates them, give your partner the space to do it on a regular basis. Meanwhile, use that time to do something you enjoy, too.

Take care of you!
We all know that a healthy mind and a healthy body go together with a healthy spirit, but figuring out a way to attain all three can seem like a tough proposition. The good news is, every little bit helps - and addressing any of the three components actually contributes to the others, too.

If you want to boost your self-confidence and motivation (in and out of the relationship) start with the stuff you can control. Eat well and commit to some kind of fitness regimen. Not only will it make you feel vibrant and sexy on the outside, it will help you feel strong and capable, which encourages you to do things on your own when you might otherwise steer clear of solo ventures. Perhaps best of all, it'll enhance your libido and drive your partner wild!

Max motivation
Finally, one of the most common explanations for personal dissatisfaction in or out of a relationship is a lack of goals. If we don't have a destination (or a series of them, since arriving at one only leads to another), the relationship can feel pointless. People thrive when they have a purpose. So take some time to sit down with yourself and set some personal goals. Then set about achieving them. Doing so will not only provide tremendous self-satisfaction (even when you have missteps and have to start again), but it will allow you to bring more to the table in your relationship.

Likewise, encourage your partner to do the same and enlist each other for encouragement. Two active halves, after all, will only make a more solid, deeply satisfied whole.

Can I Forgive Myself? Cleaning up after the mess you made

Source: California Psychics

So you really messed up in love, at work, with money or a friend… and you can't even describe how lousy you feel. Maybe you even lost the one you love, your job, your good credit, or your closest confidante… because your one mistake created waves of consequences. So, now what do you do? Sure you get it, that we all make mistakes, that we're human and this is how we learn and grow and change, but you're finding it hard (very, very hard, in fact) to forgive yourself.

Our psychics are highly experienced in dealing with callers who are suffering from enormous guilt over transgressions large and small. "Forgiving ourselves is one of the most challenging tasks in the human experience," Jesse ext. 9027 concedes. "When we have wronged someone, or something, it takes a great deal to be humble without being abusive to ourselves."

So how do you do it? How do you pardon yourself for your wrong-doings compassionately? Before exploring your options for moving on, take a good look at why you did what you did, our psychics suggest.

"Perhaps you didn't give enough thought and consideration to what the consequences might be," suggests Miss Krystal ext. 9192. "Most of us end up messing up in life because we made a poor choice. We didn't give something or someone in our life enough value - or we gave them too much undeservingly. Sometimes when an opportunity arises to 'mess-up' we take chances because we're hoping no one will take notice - when in reality, it's pretty hard to fool people," she points out.

One of Miss Krystal's clients made that very typical mistake in judgment when an extremely attractive man crossed her path on the job. She gave into his flattering advances on a business trip out of curiosity and ego more than anything else. She had no intention of ever leaving her husband and was sure he would never be the wiser if she indulged herself just once.

Unfortunately, an acquaintance saw her and her one-time-lover together and told the caller's husband who had the situation investigated. As soon as he had evidence, he filed for divorce and moved on. "In the meantime, my caller has had an awful time forgiving herself," Miss Krystal reports, "and she's suffering the consequences of the very quick and painful loss of her marriage as well."

Our psychics believe that no one wakes up wanting to mess up intentionally. They also see that we wouldn't do half the things we do to try to repair the damage, if we could predict the outcome in advance. "People in relationships, for instance, sometimes do drastic, ridiculous things, attempting to bring their loved one back after a mess up - from writing emails and text messages they later regret, to obsessive phone calling, even after being asked to stop. In order to get past bad judgment and grow, realistic acceptance of the situation must occur first, followed by forgiving yourself and then asking for forgiveness," psychics counsel.

To help you put order back into your life, Miss Krystal offers an effective five-point plan for self-foregiveness:

1. Be honest and admit that you made a poor choice and did not value whatever you lost. By doing this you give yourself a chance to change and possibly get it right in the future.

2. Keep in mind that tomorrow is another day, and perhaps it will be a better one. Give yourself hope that you'll get through this.

3. Make sure to ask forgiveness of those you disappointed, even if they have no interest in giving you another chance. This takes courage. You may be rejected, dismissed, diminished… or hopefully forgiven.

4. Make repairs where necessary: Return money, stay late or work weekends to make up for a botched assignment, re-enter a detox program… Whatever it is, do it!

5. Learn from your mistakes. Spiritual growth cannot be learned without "messing up" along our path. Once you've done everything you can do, you will be on the road to returning to normal. Talk to friends and family members or counselors for reassurance and guidance.

In moments of guilt, forgive yourself again. And, if it helps, remember that we all make mistakes, from world leaders to celebrities, as well as the people you may have wronged, our psychics remind us. This is all part of the human condition. Living with guilt and shame is not living well, but forgiving ourselves and doing the best we can with what we have… that is what this journey is all about!
