A leaked classified memo has suggested thousands of wounded soldiers could be laid off as part of defence cuts.
According to the document, seen by the Daily Telegraph, up to 16,500 Army personnel could be made redundant by April 2015, more than twice as many as previously announced.
The newspaper says these figures could include as many as 2,500 wounded soldiers, 350 of whom had lost a limb.
The Ministry of Defence is denying the report.
Head of Army planning, Brigadier Richard Nugee, said: "There is absolutely no plan to change our treatment of service personnel who are wounded injured or sick.
"No-one will leave the Armed Forces through redundancy or otherwise until they have reached a point in their recovery where leaving the Armed Forces is the right decision, however long it takes."
Addressing a party conference in the West Midlands, Labour leader Ed Miliband said the Government had a duty to protect those who serve their country, especially those who had been wounded.
