Lebanon - uncovers Syrian 'plot' to kill journalists. Syrian army chiefs could be tried by War Crimes Court

http://www.euronews.net/ The Syrian city of Homs remained under fire for a 20th consecutive day on Thursday as Lebanese intelligence reports show the Assad regime is deliberately trying to kill Western journalists.

Officials in Lebanon said they interecepted calls in which Syrian army chiefs allegedly discussed how they would claim reporters had been killed in crossfire.

The reports said there were direct orders to attack a makeshift media centre in Homs in which two western journalists were killed and three others wounded.

Europe - Greek growth targeted by European Investment Bank

The money, in the form of new loans, will go to infrastructure projects focused on the energy and transport sectors.

At a conference in Athens, the head of the European Investment Bank Werner Hoyer said Greece's road to recovery will be long and difficult.

With the vote on the horizon on March 4th the polls say he is on course to win, despite the strong opposition to another Putin reign in the Kremlin.

Some are calling it the 'virtualisation' of the election, with officials reading out results to camera in order to minimise disputes in an operation that is costing nearly half a billion euros.
