Turkey - air strikes have killed at least 23 Kurdish villagers in Ortasu near the Iraqi border

It reportedly happened in Ortasu near the Iraqi border. Pro-Kurdish media says up to 35 people may have died.

While there is no confirmation of the incident there is speculation the Turkish military may have mistakenly thought the villagers were PKK rebels.

On Wednesday, President Bashar al-Assad's regime released 755 prisoners detained during the nine month uprising. The move is a requirement of the Arab League peace plan.

Meanwhile in Homs, Arab observers continued their tour of flashpoint cities around the country.

Myanmar - 17 people dead and 80 + injured in an explosion at Yangon. Blast 'not sabotage'

http://www.euronews.net/ Police in Myanmar have confirmed that at least 17 people have been killed and over 80 others injured in an explosion in the country's main city of Yangon.

The blast happened at a chemical storage warehouse, triggering a fire which quickly spread to a nearby shipyard.

The cause is not known but the authorities have discounted it being an explosive device.

However bomb blasts are common in Myanmar, which has been torn by rebellions against successive governments since independence in 1948.

Myanmar gunpowder blast 'not sabotage'

http://www.euronews.net/ An explosion and fire at a gunpowder warehouse in Myanmar's main city of Yangon, also known as Rangoon, has killed at least 17 people and injured 80.

By morning, the scale of the damage gave some indication of the power of the blast.

Authorities do not believe it was sabotage. One former official said he thought the gunpowder was used in the country's mines, not to make arms.
