Greece - New Prime Minister gets first taste of public wrath

A general strike is underway, with public transport ground to a halt, schools shut and hospitals only dealing with emergencies.

Unions representing over half of Greece's four million-strong workforce called the 24-hour strike.

Iraq - 18 dead in twin Iraq attacks in Iraq's Diyala province.

http://www.euronews.net/ At least eighteen people have been killed in separate attacks in Iraq's Diyala province.

Ten died in a bomb blast in the town of Khalis, according to medical sources. And gunmen raided three homes in the village of Jil al-Said, shooting eight people dead.

It is unknown who carried out the attacks.

The killings come during a visit to Iraq by US Vice President Joe Biden.

USA - Michel Taubmann´s biography of Dominique Strauss-Kahn admits sexual encounter "consensual but stupid".

The biography written by French writer Michel Taubmann also contains conspiracy theories including the suggestion the maid was in his room to steal Strauss-Kahn's mobile phone.
