Extraordinary Lives of Psychics

4 intuitives reveal their past
Source: California Psychics

We asked four of the newest additions to the California Psychics® team to offer insight into what it's like to be born with the gift of prophesy. Then we reveal how they decided to use their inherent gifts to follow their life's path. Their stories run the gamut from funny to hair-raising... insightful and, most of all, inspiring.

What would it be like to be born into a family that has been psychic for generations? Can you imagine being tucked into bed each night as a child, knowing that when the lights went out, a man wearing a hat would be standing at the foot of your bed? Or, finally getting your mom to believe that your long-gone grandfather was keeping you up at night because he had a message for her? These extraordinary stories and more are an eye-opening introduction to the real lives of psychics Brendalynn, Corrine, Fiona and Kit.

New California Psychic Fiona ext. 5178 grew up in family where practicing readings in the family room and dinner table gossip about intuitive relatives, passed and present, were everyday occurrences. By the time the Clairvoyant was in high school, she had begun earning money predicting who would be dating whom. "The kids at school said I was always right - I wasn't, but I was right enough of the time for them to pay me out of their allowance for readings. Our home phone was always ringing off the hook. My mom would proudly say, 'Pick it up, it's another one of your clients,' and my grandmother, a master astrologer, would always smile. I can't tell you how much confidence all of these experiences gave me early on," Fiona recalls.

But receptive families aren't always there when you are the only psychic child in a non-psychic family. Brendalynn ext. 5173 hid her gifts early on because of her religious background. Even as an adult, she worried that she might make "psychic slips" in public. She was self-conscious about other people constantly asking, "how did you know that?" She didn't want to have to answer that question.

And even though Corrine ext. 5194 had a great grandmother who was known for reading tea leaves, her skeptical mother would yell "just go back to sleep! Nobody else is in your bedroom," when the nine year old began getting regular visits from spirits. "Finally, when I gave her messages from my grandfather, including the year he was born and the names of his horses, she began to believe me. Later, when my parents divorced, she'd come to me and I'd tell her about the men she would meet and date, which she thought was great fun."

By the age of four, Kit ext. 5180 could sense what was happening in the lives of people around her, and she believed that the man in the hat who appeared in her room at night was there to protect her. Her grandparents, whom she lived with, disregarded her psychic awakenings as dreams - and yet her grandmother did ask questions about what she saw and felt. When she was 17, Kit was given a set of Tarot cards as a gift, though her family wasn't thrilled with her new interest. As she began to study the Tarot, her psychic senses, she says, increased dramatically.

Psychics Kit, Fiona and Corrine grew into reading professionally quite naturally, and their client lists seemed to grow organically through word-of-mouth. "I never advertised my gifts in any way," Kit remarks - still, she became a full-time professional psychic at the age of 23."The owner of a small metaphysical bookstore called one day and asked if I would work for her, because she had heard about my work. Within months my path took on a life of its own."

"I finally understood that everyone has a special purpose in the universe and that as modern psychics, we provide answers," reveals Fiona about her decision to becoming a professional intuitive. "I found great joy in giving readings. Being a good psychic is about caring for people, about deep understanding, heart knowledge and unraveling mysteries - I truly love what I do."

Corrine, who had an active client list by age 14, was only allowed to work during the summer. "But like any teenager, I wasn't 100 percent sure what I wanted to do." Then Corrine met her husband, very early on. "We connected on a spiritual level at first - reading each other's cards, talking to each other's guides and giving each other tips. I can worry about something, like whether or not a reading was focused enough… and he'll read my mind and say, don't worry, you did fine. One evening, early in their relationship, after doing readings at a local "haunted bar" (they weren't even old enough to drink), they still had a line waiting for them after they closed the place down. "In the car, on the way home that evening, we knew we'd be a happily married couple who both helped people with our psychic abilities."

Only Brendalynn says she had to experience "a dark night of the soul," and it lasted three years. She felt it was necessary to "liberate her mediumistic, psychic self." For 22 years, she had jobs in real estate and business, until she found herself running into mysterious barriers. "I couldn't prosper. I couldn't get my work done. My personal life was falling apart," she openly admits. "I went through an intense and deeply spiritual transformation when I stopped doubting my gifts and caring about what everyone else thought. All of those barriers fell down when I revealed myself and said, this is who I am."

If you are psychic or are born with gifts or talents in any related area, our new psychics encourage you to embrace them - whether you decide to grow your gifts professionally or not. "Never underestimate the power of self-realization!" Fiona exclaims.

Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius

Lessons in selflessness
by Red
Source: California Psychics

On August 5, 2009, the rays from our Leo sun will be blocked from reaching our Aquarius Full Moon, by the Earth and its shadow at 8:55 pm EST... time for another Lunar Eclipse. Unless you happen to be awake in parts of Africa, Europe, or South America, you aren't going to be able to see this shadowy show - but we will all feel the vibes!

Eclipse mythology
It was once believed (and some still believe) that an Eclipse is a sign or a bad omen. It's understandable that if you aren't expecting to see this kind of phenomenon - Lunar or Solar - it can be kind of freaky. The science of astronomy quickly explains that these occurrences are simply about celestial placement and orbital paths, but the art of Astrology delves into the esoteric side of things, clarifying the subtle and not-so-subtle shifts of energy. A Lunar Eclipse, besides being cool to watch, is an opportunity to assess who you are, and to recognize those concepts or areas of life that you may need to change.

Leo sun and Aquarius moon
Leo energy is lavish and bold, generous and kind. Yet Leo's gifts can often be colored by selfishness and drama. Aquarius energy is the most humanitarian in the zodiac - and is also known for its inventive and intellectual vibe. There is an Aquarian duality, though, which can sometimes be displayed through a detached and unemotional essence. Since the Sun is in Leo, the Moon is in Aquarius, and Earth is going to be smack in the middle - most of us are going to be in for an interesting, possibly challenging, emotional ride!

Full moon eclipse
Eclipse energy can start to make itself known to us on an unconscious, sometimes conscious, level as early as a month before the event. So, if you have been feeling stuck, conflicted, overwhelmed, or depressed - these feelings may have been being amplified with the nearing of this Lunar event. Fasten your seatbelt, because all this inner turmoil is about to come to a head. The energy of this Eclipse is going to be an enlightening time, as personal blockages crumble and new ideas are perceived. Our psychic awareness is going to increase, and we will all be a bit more in tune with our emotional (and overly emotional) reactions. While it is a time of tremendous personal transformation, it is also an awakening of sorts - guiding us all to be more aware of the world in which we live.

Selflessness
Being selfless doesn't mean that your purpose is to serve, or that you should give away all that you have - material, emotional or spiritual. It is more of a transition into understanding that all things are connected, and therefore affected by all that you do.

The Leo influence is likely to inspire shopping sprees, makeovers, and replacing worn-out items (and ideas!) with things that are fresh and new. The Aquarian influence will promote lending a helping hand, so you might donate items you may normally just toss. You could find yourself going "greener" than you thought you would. You will be inspired to give back where and how you can - and, if you pay attention, you'll realize that your good deeds are coming back to you.

Because the energy of an Eclipse is likely to flow for about six months, a lot of things can take shape and change. With a little effort and mindful living, we can make our lives, the lives of others, and our world into a better place.

By sign
Aquarius and Leo are going to be affected by this Eclipse more strongly than most, but each of us is likely have some things we need to deal with.

Leos may feel as if they are being tested - or pulled in several directions at once - and will draw on their spiritual sides for additional support. Partnerships formed now have a chance to endure, and Leos who are in love may find themselves making wedding plans.

Virgo will quietly observe, formulating plans. With home life happy and settled, it's all about career plans. There will be changes at work, and turnover of staff can lead to promotions… or possibly a new career direction.

Libra will be rewarded for not giving up, and kudos will be handed out for a job well done. Creative answers will simplify problems at home.

Scorpio may have to face some personal dramas they'd rather not deal with, but once it's out in the open things will improve. The power-play in the career field is about to pay off, and positive recognition is on the way.

Sagittarius will be enjoying a social high, and new friends and family are likely to stop in. If a different vehicle or an excursion of some sort has been on your mind, things are lining up to make "now" the time.

Capricorn will see opportunity everywhere they look. With planning and strategy this can be a very prosperous time. So time to start formulating one of your brilliant, big-picture plans.

Aquarius may realize that it's time to slow down and take fewer risks, while recognizing and releasing the emotional blockages that have been getting in their way. The tides are turning for the better, and Aquarius will share in the wealth.

Pisces may realize they have some growing to do, and will implement a more spiritual approach to help them achieve those goals.

Aries will be finding solutions to the problems that plague them - both in their personal and professional lives. Focus is important now, because scattered energies could create problems at a later date.

Taurus may be feeling a financial pinch, but better economic opportunities are on the way. Try and be mindful of creating a balance - you don't want to be all work, with no time left over to play.

Gemini needs to center and ground, because creative wants and ideas may have their heads in the clouds. Choose to follow-up and follow-through on the things you're starting now, and it will pave the way and make things much easier.

Cancer will let go of some old relationship hurts, and find that when they are fully present, life is filled with love and support.

Tangled Up in Love

A soulmate search ends perfectly

So you've barely left one love and you're bound and determined to move in with another, yet you're not quite divorced and your new lover's pressuring you. Your self-worth is so tied up in your failure to launch your new relationship that you're literally suffering from a spiritual energy crisis.

Many callers come to us with tangled love lives that leave them intricately fearful, doubting themselves and ultimately miserable because they have no idea of what to do next, says Maryfrances ext. 9225, a Clairvoyant who counts love and romance among her specialties.

The psychic's caller Jemma (not her real name) was so frightened of being alone - though a beautiful, brainy, successful mother of three - that she unequivocally believed if she didn't give her husband a second chance or get her current lover to commit to her she would be missing her chance to be loved again.

"Will I ever be with Todd?" Jemma asked about her co-worker (not his real name) who she was secretly seeing. The two had traveled together to trade shows and meetings, and had become intimately involved after she had left her husband. Before Maryfrances could even begin to give her answers, Jemma rattled on about never having signed her divorce papers. "Maybe I'd be better off going back to my husband?" "What am I doing to my kids?" "Do you think Todd is the one?" she breathlessly asked the psychic.

"This man is in love with you," Maryfrances told Jemma about her lover, Todd. "He's pushing you to make a commitment before he stops seeing other people."

"That's true!" Jemma responded, happy that the psychic was getting clear messages.

"You can have this relationship, but there is a better one coming along," Maryfrances continued - but this time, her caller did not believe her. "If you decide to pass on this relationship, the other man will ultimately will be a better match."

Jemma hung up, angry about the message the Clairvoyant had delivered to her with such certainty. Days later Jemma called back, hoping to get a different answer - but only heard the same thing again.

Months later, Jemma called Maryfrances with the news that Todd wanted a commitment from her - or the relationship was over. He wanted to see her exclusively, without worrying that she would run back to her husband when things got difficult. Jemma wanted Todd, but told Maryfrances that she would not be forced to make a decision for him.

Again, Jemma was frozen with fear. She had no idea what to do. "Should I go back to my husband?" she asked the psychic seriously.

"That relationship is dead and buried. When you're ready to really end that marriage and take the pressure off yourself over Todd, I see you dating," Maryfrances projected.

"Dating? No way!" Jemma insisted.

"Yes, casually dating. I don't see it as a stretch for you."

"Well," Jemma admitted, "I do get asked out quite often."

Before they hung up, Maryfrances gave her caller deep breathing exercises to calm her down, and suggested some visualizations to help get through her emotional storm. "Your husband and Todd," she reminded Jemma, "are not your only options for love."

The next time Jemma called the psychic, it was to go through a short list of possible suitors. She wasn't giving up on Todd quite yet, but she couldn't be seen with him publicly because of office politics. She had finalized her divorce, and she needed a date for several important social events that were coming up.

Maryfrances knew she would know the name of the third man she had seen in Jemma's readings, once she heard it. "I told her I could do a quick numerology on her potential dates to 'weed out the trolls.'" Maryfrances laughed when she heard the name "Charlie." He was a Cancer, ten years Jemma's senior. "I hate to say I told you so, but I think this is your man!" she announced.

The stunning energy the Clairvoyant saw for the couple was so strong that she gave herself a 97% chance that she was right about Charlie. "I didn't know every twist and turn of what was about to happen," she remembers, "but I did feel like l was under divine influence to help their relationship get started."

Almost a year later, Jemma consulted Maryfrances one more time, wondering about a commitment from Charlie. He had never been married, and he told her that he would "never marry unless he was sure…"

"Tell him exactly how you feel about him, and see what happens," Maryfrances recommended.

That conversation was just what the universe had ordered. Months later, Jemma and Charlie were married in front of 300 guests - including Jemma's ex-husband, and her former boyfriend Todd!

Weekly LoveCast™ Full Moon sparks emotions

The main event this week is Wednesday's Full Moon eclipse in Aquarius, which prompts some sizzling social encounters - if you can ride out the emotional volatility. Thursday is a delightful time for spiritual and philanthropic endeavors and friendly gatherings. During the weekend, mixed messages can derail love on Saturday, and argumentativeness can unhinge love on Sunday. Best days for love: Thursday and Friday.

Week of August 3 - 9, 2009

Leo: Twosome energy soars during the Full Moon eclipse, so plan a fun date with your sweetie - or be open to meeting someone fabulous. Just try not to overreact to emotional situations. If you're already involved, talking about your ideals can deepen your bond on Thursday. During the weekend, intimacy is stilted on Saturday but lusty and complicated on Sunday!

Virgo: Look for romance during a work project, or helpful activity during the Full Moon eclipse. A coworker may drive you nuts, though, so strive to stay objective. Keep your eyes open for a job opportunity as well. Your partner may go off the rails on Saturday, but a passionate interlude will heal the breach on Sunday!

Libra: You're a magnet for romance during the Full Moon eclipse! Creating an enticing environment for love will fire up passion, so share your artsy side. Promoting your creativity can bring satisfaction as well. The eclipse can be unstable, though - so strive to stay centered. This weekend, work can hinder romance on Saturday. Compromise will assist love on Sunday.

Scorpio: Throwing a party will show off your talent for entertaining during the Full Moon eclipse. You may get the urge to redecorate your abode as well. Interactions with family members are also in focus, but an issue may arise to throw you off-balance. This weekend, romance is unpredictable on Saturday. Willfulness can derail love on Sunday.

Sagittarius: The Full Moon eclipse inspires words from the heart - and some sexy communications! A trip for two can inspire romance as well. On the downside, gossip or rash words might be your undoing - so speak wisely! During the weekend, emotional stress can unhinge you on Saturday, but passion lights a fire under you on Sunday.

Capricorn: Your unconventional side inspires passion during the Full Moon eclipse, so share your wild child - both in and out of the bedroom! A moneymaking opportunity may land in your lap as well, but check the facts carefully. During the weekend, argumentativeness can derail love on Saturday. A home or family issue can upset love on Sunday.

Aquarius: The Full Moon eclipse in your sign heightens your powers of attraction. A round of partying is likely - or at least spending time with close friends. Most importantly, seek out people who support your ideals and values, which will help you move forward. This weekend, love seems irrational on Saturday. Hasty words can derail romance on Sunday.

Pisces: Reviewing the past can help you move forward during the Full Moon eclipse. Your intuition is especially strong now, so heed your inner voice via meditation or dream analysis. Just don't beat yourself up over what could have been. During the weekend, you're a magnet for romance - and weird people. Choose your companions carefully!

Aries: The Full Moon eclipse energizes activities with friends. Romance can be found during a community event or through a friend. Just be sure to be selective about who you're hanging out with - because the eclipse can prompt some weird social situations. This weekend you may feel unusually restless on Saturday - and combative on Sunday. Take a breath - and relax!

Taurus: Networking with friends and coworkers during the Full Moon eclipse can bring a romantic interlude or a career opportunity. Socializing is likely to attract people who either support where you're headed or sidetrack you - so be true to your values. A heartfelt talk can inspire a breakthrough in love this weekend, if you avoid engaging in controlling behavior.

Gemini: Your future is illuminated by the Full Moon eclipse. Listening to your inner voice will guide your direction. Romance can be found while traveling - or during a spiritual gathering. Taking a class with your sweetie will deepen your bond - or prompt a steamy romp afterward! This weekend, love is chaotic on Saturday, and socializing might get weird on Sunday.

Cancer: The Full Moon eclipse energizes intimate encounters - if you let yourself be vulnerable and choose someone who treats you well. Healing old emotional wounds and analyzing your inner life will help you move forward. This weekend, your timing for romance may be off on Saturday. A clash of wills is likely on Sunday.

Interesting week ahead - will 2 soul mates find one another?

Your horoscope - Week of August 3, 2009
Another interesting week is coming your way. Communication plays an important part in your progress. Monday, in particular, could be quite intense, as you're keen to get to the bottom of an issue. If you're researching information necessary for a project, you'll be willing to look long and hard to find what you want. If there's a mystery to be solved or if the information is obscure, so much the better. You'll relish the challenge. Monday is also good for discussing work-related problems, as long as you're willing to face the truth of the situation. Resolving such matters may mean a radical transformation, which will open up space for greater success in the future. A Full Moon Eclipse midweek takes place in your social zone. Expect some interesting events associated with friends and friendships. Someone you haven't heard from for some time may reappear, which could upset the apple cart. On another note, this is a good time to review your current peer relationships and assess whether they're helping or hindering you. Others may be doing the same, so there could be a few changes along the way. Friday brings a chance to think about starting a diet.
