Avro has re-launched its summer flying programme offering new routes and additional flying days across its western and eastern Mediterranean routes for summer 2011 and beyond.
Across Greece, capacity has been significantly increased to Corfu, Crete, Zante, Kos, Rhodes and Kefalonia. The Corfu programme alone has increased from one weekly flight from Gatwick to four flights per week and with flights from Luton introduced for the first time and offered three times weekly. Flights from Manchester and Birmingham to the island have also been upgraded to offer additional capacity throughout the peak holiday period.
Boosting capacity to Turkey, the gateway of Bodrum will have an extra three flights a week from Gatwick and two extra flights weekly from both Manchester and Birmingham.
Still within the Eastern Mediterranean programme the island of Cyprus sees a 50% increase in capacity to both Larnaca and Paphos with the addition of both new and upgraded flights.
Says Michael Vinales, Avro Managing Director: “Both Western and Eastern Mediterranean traditional summer hotspots are seeing huge demand year on year with the public very much wanting to return to their tried and tested favourites. Greece is enjoying phenomenal growth this year as are the Portuguese Algarve, Cyprus, long haul family favourite, Florida and virtually all Spanish mainland and island gateways. With a lot of demand coming from the north we are pleased to offer a lot of extra capacity from Manchester as well as Birmingham.”
The new for 2011 Italian destinations of Lamezia on Italy’s Calabrian coast as well as Verona and Naples and Cagliari and Olbia in Sardinia from Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh, are showing excellent early sales and again indicating the return in demand for the traditional summer holiday destination of Italy.
In addition to the increase in charter capacity, the operator is also offering agents access to over 5 million atol protected flight seats for summer 2011 through its dedicated link to sister airline, Monarch’s scheduled stock across Spain, its islands, Portugal, Cyprus and Turkey.
