Dating scams
Dating scams
Dating scams are usually a variant of the advanced fee fraud - some pretty girl (probably some ugly bloke in reality) sends you some random photos and explains that they want to move to your country and move in with you.. but can they have some money first? The basic operation of these scams is described here. To make it look more credible, sometimes fake dating sites are set up to give the whole thing an air of legitimacy.
This current batch of fake sites is being advertised with an email similar to the following: .....
Another web site with names of scamming sites - well I am writing to a Lady at UADreams (Donetsk) which is one of the sites named. Some forums say that they have met girls from this site and are happy with the service so who do you believe? Yes I could get a friend to write their first letter (which is free) to this lady asking all about her family where she is working where she studied etc., and see if it checked with the information that was given to me. This approach could be used by any two people to see if this site or site was genuine. I have been happy with the site and the lady and hope that everything is above board:) I think that if sites that had nothing to hide published their street addresses of their branch offices this would help as it would show that they had nothing to hide.
The internet seems to have caused many problems:(

Lewis Hamilton Stripped of Spa Victory - Fair or not fair?
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa has been declared the winner of Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix after McLaren’ Lewis Hamilton was handed a 25-second time penalty following the race. Hamilton drops to third place as a result, with BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld moving up to second.
Hamilton was penalised after stewards decided he had gained an advantage by cutting the final chicane in his late-race battle with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen. McLaren plan to appeal the decision.
Pantano in the GP2 first race on Saturday was banned from competing in Sunday´s race for a similar error going into the first corner

Whilst Prime Minister Putin shot a tiger (with a tranquilizer) the owner of an opposition Internet news site in Russia’s troubled Ingushetiya region has been shot dead after police detained him. Russia has recognized South Ossetia and Abkhazia so when will they recognize the independence of Ingushetiya.
