"Slamming" is the illegal practice of changing a consumer's telephone service - local, intralata service, or interlata service (including state to state, in state and international long distance) - without permission.
I have had phone calls from my telecoms company suggesting that I change my mobile plan to another more advantageous plan. I politely declined and a few weeks later on the television news it reported that companies were trying to persuade clients to change plans, moving them into a more expensive plan. My gut feeling had been right!
This blog is turning into one against Scams, but that does not worry me as we are here to help we the people try and turn the world into a better place.
