Stocks Stabilize After Sharp Selling Friday on 'Brexit': TheStreet

The weekend is over and stocks are mixed. Most global stock markets opened lower on leftover selling from Friday but have stabilized. Japan's Nikkei, which suffered and 8% loss Friday, has been trading higher most of the night. U.S. stocks are looking at losses. Some analysts say the worst is not over with Brexit, as the British negotiate the best way to leave the European Union. Other analysts say Friday's sell-off was a knee jerk reaction that was overdone. Oil prices are edging higher but volatility is likely to remain over the near term, as the British pound fell further and sent the U.S. dollar soaring. Weapons shipped into Jordan by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Saudi Arabia intended for Syrian rebels have been systematically stolen by Jordanian intelligence operatives and sold to arms merchants on the black market, according to American and Jordanian officials.

A joint investigation by Al Jazeera and The New York Times has revealed the theft.
