Diplomacy comes in two forms. The first involves sidestepping matters that could cause emotional upset or become a source of contention. The second, and the one currently being emphasised, is about allow those matters to surface, but ensuring the resulting discussions are cordial and, ultimately, deal with the issues in question.

Facebook Facing Pressure by Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) - has potential upside of 20%

Uploaded by on Feb 28, 2012
Bloomberg reported that, Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) asked Facebook to license technologies covered by its intellectual property. The company also threatened to take legal action if both companies don't reach an agreement.

Yahoo is searching for techniques to restore growth after losing share to Facebook in the display advertising market and following Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) in web search.

In an e-mail statement, Yahoo said, "We must insist that Facebook either enter into a licensing agreement or we will be compelled to move forward unilaterally to protect our rights."

Yahoo! (NASDAQ:YHOO) has potential upside of 20% based on a current price of $14.84 and an average consensus analyst price target of $17.8.

Uploaded by on Feb 28, 2012
This is what's in the news for Tuesday February 28, 2012. The Wall Street Journal reports the price of memory chips used in personal computers jumped on expectations that the failure of Japanese chip maker Elpida Memory, which filed for bankruptcy protection yesterday, will tighten global supply in the near term.
Reuters reports Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) is demanding licensing fees from Facebook for use of its technology, which could engulf social media in the patent battles and lawsuits seen across much of the tech sector.
Bloomberg reports Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) Chairman Warren Buffett has said he's “on the prowl” for large deals, making companies from Stanley Black & Decker (NYSE:SWK) to Parker Hannifin (NYSE:PH) the most attractive takeover targets.

Finally, Bloomberg also reports now that GM (NYSE:GM) has regained the global sales leadership from Toyota (NYSE:TM), it's planning new Cadillac models to more than double sales and overtake the Japanese automaker’s Lexus luxury brand.
