Google Donates $11M to End Slavery. This gift should free 12,000 people from modern day slavery

Google.org, the philanthropic branch of Google is giving $11M in an effort to stop slavery around the world. This gift should free 12,000 people from modern day slavery and prevent millions more from being victimized. Google's anti-slavery grants are set to aid the International Justice Mission, BBC World Service Trust, ActionAid India and eight other organizations dedicated to eradicating slave labor. Said Gary A. Haugen, president & CEO of International Justice Mission, "It's hard for most Americans to believe that slavery and human trafficking are still massive problems in our world, but it's not hard to believe for the more than 27 million men, women and children held in slavery today." Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) has potential upside of 17.6% based on a current price of $620.9 and an average consensus analyst price target of $730.3.

Chilean doctors say they had been successful after a 20 hour long operation to separate 10-month-old conjoined twins.

The separation of the twins, who were attached by the chest and pelvis, took place at Santiago's Luis Calvo Mackenna Hospital.

It has been hailed as the most complex procedure ever carried out in the South American nation.

Amazon: Customers Purchasing Kindles at Rate of Over 1 Million Per Week

Amazon.com says that for the third week in a row, customers are purchasing well over 1 million Kindle devices per week.

The company did not break out individual metrics on each unit; Kindle sales would include the E-Ink-based e-reader devices as well as the Kindle Fire tablet, which began shipping on Nov. 15 for $199.

Amazon said the Fire has been the best-selling item on its Web site since its launch.

Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) has potential upside of 31.9% based on a current price of $182.08 and an average consensus analyst price target of $240.08.

USA - FINRA Fines Wells Fargo $2 Million For Unsuitable Sales of Convertible Securities

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority announced it has fined Wells Fargo Investments (NYSE:WFC) $2 million for unsuitable sales of reverse convertible securities through one broker to 21 customers, and for failing to provide sales charge discounts on Unit Investment Trust transactions to eligible customers.
