Russell Grant's Daily Horoscopes for Friday 8th July 2011

.
Aries (Mar21/Apr20) Playing devil's advocate gives you a perverse sense of pleasure. Take care that your challenging remarks don't hurt a friend's feelings. You like to poke fun at their moral dilemma, but it's a very real struggle for a loved one. If you're single, you will meet someone special in an almost formal forum. The two of you will enjoy verbal sparring, and make people think you're deadly enemies. Actually, you find each other very amusing.
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) Hard work has never stood between you and success. In fact, your diligent nature will garner favourable publicity. If you're looking for a job, you will be offered one related to hospitality, law, or art. Your ability to create a comfortable atmosphere is your greatest strength. Be sure to emphasise this gift when you go on an interview. Go ahead and ask for a bigger salary than the one you are offered at first. You deserve to be well paid for your impressive skills.
 .
Gemini (May22/Jun21) You're ready to do battle with anybody who stands in your way. If you've got your eye on someone special, make your move now, before a rival steals your thunder. A bold overture will pay off handsomely. If you have a lover, set the tone for a romantic evening. Arrange a candlelit dinner for two where you can enjoy a good meal while gazing adoringly at each other. This is your big chance to clear the air with a steamy lovemaking session.
 .
Cancer (Jun22/Jul23) When life becomes difficult, you find tremendous solace in a fantasy world. Take this opportunity to dive into a good book, romantic movie, or melodic album. An old favourite from childhood will strike a chord. Family is very comforting, too. If you're struggling financially, a generous relative will give you a generous gift. This sum will tide you over until you get back on your feet again. Don't feel guilty about using this safety net; you've always been there for loved ones in the past.
 .
Leo (Jul24/Aug23) Joining a good cause gives you a new lease on life. You're tired of being surrounded by cynical people who insist the world is doomed. By pouring your energy into helping animals, feeding the poor, or protecting the environment, you'll feel a sense of connection that was once elusive. Good news from a business or romantic partner comes as a relief. It's good to know you don't have to worry about their happiness any longer. Why not go out and celebrate?
 .
Virgo (Aug24/Sep23) Making your mark on the world is your first priority. You're tired of being overlooked and part of the problem is your refusal to point up your accomplishments. This time around, be sure to broadcast your latest achievement far and wide. Nobody will blame you for bragging; the fruits of your labour are incredibly impressive. If you want to get ahead in your career, try learning a foreign language. You're a quick learner and will pick things up easily.
 .
Libra (Sep24/Oct23) You can't stand being cooped up inside. Try spending an hour or two outdoors, even if the weather is nasty. A little fresh air is just what you need to get your creative juices flowing. Lately, it feels like you've been in a rut. You yearn for intellectual stimulation. Getting an advanced degree or studying with a respected expert will be rewarding. You'll feel an instant connection with a teacher who is fond of bestowing nicknames on their students.
 .
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) There's no such thing as forgiving and forgetting for you. If someone does you an injury, you'll bide your time until you get revenge. At long last, you have the chance to set the scales of justice straight. This can be as simple as championing someone your enemy detested. Recommend this character for a job or draw attention to their unique talents. By banding together with fellow underdogs, you'll recoup some of the power that was taken away from you.
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) In general, you are not known for your diplomacy. Now you should exercise tact with a business or romantic partner. The gentler you are with your friend, the stronger your bond will become. It's especially important to support a cherished dream of theirs. By encouraging them to write a book, take up a musical instrument, or train for a competition, you'll gather the courage to go after your own goals. Stop telling yourself it's too late to do your own thing.
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) Getting exercise will help you shake off the malaise that has been following you for days. Things are a lot better than you think; it's just a matter of leaving a difficult situation behind. Someone who makes you feel guilty isn't worthy of your time. Break this bond for once and for all. This will leave you with a lot more room in your schedule for sports, hiking, and biking. Gentle exercise like swimming or walking will also be very helpful.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) You've never liked being the centre of attention, but that's about to change. Word has spread of your charm and wit, and you will be invited to several glittering parties. Be sure to attend at least one this evening. If you're single, you will have the choice of several suitors. Choose the one who makes you laugh. If you already have a lover, you'll have a wonderful chance to make them jealous. It's about time your partner remembered just what a great catch you really are!
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) You feel a deep emotional connection with your sexual partner. The two of you may opt to spend the entire day in bed, locked in each other's arms. If you're looking for a partner, you could find one at a dance club, ice skating rink, or yoga class. Keep your eyes open for someone who is physically graceful. The two of you will feel an instant connection, and share an interest in a particular writer, director, or musician.

"Super" trailer - in UK Cinemas Friday 8th July 2011 - Starring: Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon, Michael Rooker

Uploaded by on Mar 10, 2011
Rainn Wilson is a sad-sack superhero wannabe in James Gunn's comic book satire movie, Super. Check out the hilarious trailer.

Super (2010 American film)

Plot

The film opens with short order cook Frank D'Arbo (Wilson) telling the audience of the only two good memories he's had in a life of disappointment and shame-marrying his beautiful wife Sarah (Tyler) and an incident in which he directed some cops to catch a purse snatcher. These memories are depicted as two childlike crayon illustrations that Frank hangs on his wall.
.
Later on, Sarah, a recovering addict, leaves Frank for Jacques (Bacon), a charismatic strip club owner who gets her hooked on drugs. Frank sinks into depression, where he has a vision in which he is touched by the hand of God and meets the Holy Avenger (Fillion), a superhero from a public-access television show on the All-Jesus Network. He tells Frank that God has chosen him for a very special purpose. Frank later seeks the advice of Libby (Page), a neurotic comic book shop employee, under the pretense that he is designing a new superhero. Frank suits up in a patchwork costume, calling himself the Crimson Bolt. Armed with a wrench, he goes on a crime-fighting spree, brutally bludgeoning everyone from drug dealers, child molesters, and even those who butt in line. The Crimson Bolt soon becomes a media sensation. He later attempts to rescue Sarah, but Jacques' thugs recognize him under the costume and end up shooting him in the leg.
.
A wounded Frank goes to Libby for help and protection as his home is no longer safe with Jacques' thugs looking for him. Libby volunteers herself to be Frank's "kid sidekick" despite his objections, christening herself as Boltie. She proves to be even more unhinged than Frank, using her superhero guise to almost kill a man who may or may not have keyed her friend's car. Frank decides to let her go, but changes his mind when Libby rescues him from some of Jacques' thugs at a gas station by slamming his car into their legs. Libby soon becomes enamored with Frank, but her advances are turned down as Frank insists that he is still married. Deciding it is different when they are in their superhero identities, Libby ends up raping Frank in full costume. Going in the bathroom to vomit, Frank encounters a vision of Sarah in the toilet and decides that now is the time to rescue her from Jacques.
.
Armed with extensive weaponry, explosives and bulletproof vests, Frank and Libby make an attack on Jacques' ranch, killing most of his men. At one point, they are both shot; Frank's bullet proof vest gets hit, sparing him, but Libby's face is partially blown off, killing her. Devastated by her death, Frank goes into a rage, killing the rest of the thugs. Inside he has a final showdown with Jacques. Jacques shoots Frank and wounds him. Frank gains the upper hand, though, and stabs Jacques after a final monologue. Frank takes Sarah home, and she stays with him for a few months before leaving him again. This time, however, she manages to finally overcome her addiction and uses her experiences to help others with similar problems. She marries again and has children, but Frank is happy for her and decides that the reason why God chose him was so that he could rescue Sarah and help her get on with her life.
.
The film ends on a similar note as it began, with Frank, now with a pet bunny, looking on his wall of happy memories. Only this time, instead of two isolated drawings, Frank's entire wall is covered with pictures of his experiences from his time spent with Libby to pictures of Sarah's kids, who call him 'Uncle Frank'. The film closes on Frank smiling with a tear running down his cheek.
