Genre: Foreign, Drama

In theaters: February 4th, 2011 (USA)

Synopsis:

After abandoning a promising academic career in forensic science, a self-styled Sherlock Holmes, Doug (Cris Lankenau), returns to Portland to live with his more responsible big sister Gail (Trieste Kelly Dunn). He lands a dead-end job working in an ice factory, but soon finds an opportunity to use his passion and skill in detective work when his ex-girlfriend, Rachel (Robyn Rikoon) goes missing. Enlisting a team of ramshackle slacker-sleuths, Doug leads his team down a complex trail of clues and increasingly close to the discovering the mysterious truth about Rachel. COLD WEATHER is a charming mystery -- simultaneously a rich detective story and an affecting tale of siblings uniting after years apart. With it's own idiosyncratic spin on familiar genre conventions, the film features the lyrical style, lush camera work and naturalistic performances that have established director Aaron Katz (DANCE PARTY USA, QUIET CITY) as a major talent to watch. COLD WEATHER premiered to critical acclaim at the 2010 SXSW, San Francisco and Los Angeles Film Festivals.

About Red Riding Hood:
Valerie (Amanda Seyfried) is a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie's older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), to help them kill the wolf. But Solomon's arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. As the death toll rises with each moon, Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves. Panic grips the town as Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast--one that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect...and bait.

Russell Grant’s Daily Horoscopes: Tuesday 12th April 2011

.
Aries (Mar21/Apr20) There is no fixed way or formula for communicating with people. If you aren’t getting the message across, be patient. It might seem like you and another person are speaking a different language these days. What you need is a change of tactics. You might suspect someone is deliberately misinterpreting your words, in which case, spell it out to them in front of a witness. Give an ultimatum
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) You will be driven by a restless spirit all day long. This could lead you to planning something unusual and this is no bad thing. Your restlessness today is merely an indication of what you should be doing. That is: looking for new ways to fill your time. It may take a lot of self discipline to stop you from going overboard with your spending. So even if you had planned on going shopping, this is one thing you should avoid. Find something else to occupy your time!
 .
Gemini (May22/June21) An emotional wound is too fresh for you to feel it will ever heal. There will come a time when you will strive to fill this emptiness. Someone or something is missing from your life making you feel empty inside. You are still getting over the shock of having had to deal with an unexpected and upsetting situation. Once you accept what has happened, don’t try to ignore the feelings but try to let it go. You will rise above this and you will be okay.
 .
Cancer (June22/July23) Someone whose life has been entwined with yours for a very long time makes a sudden announcement. Even if there had been a prize for guessing, you would never have imagined this coming. People you care for have been making plans secretly and maybe you didn’t know them as well as you thought. As happy as you are for someone who is planning a celebration, you have to get over this feeling of being excluded.
 .
Leo (July24/Aug23) How can you possibly be too generous as someone is implying? You’ve always loved to give without counting the cost and you aren’t looking for recompense. A friend resents how much you are giving to others. They might show this through indignant remarks or immature behaviour. You find it easy to share and give with a loving spirit. If someone in your life can’t handle this, you might question the compatibility of this friendship.

Virgo (Aug24/Sept23) You often get frustrated when working with people who aren’t as careful or as sensible as you. All that’s needed to deal with today’s difficulties is common sense and patience. Another person might take over a project which turns out to be a disaster. You will wish you had jumped in before they let it get that far. If you or a close one is struggling with personal debt, a professional might help you put your affairs in order.
 .
Libra (Sept24/Oct23) You’re trying to keep afloat but pressures are increasing. You feel as if you’re taking in water and starting to drown. There’s a fear of losing everything you have worked hard for. No-one else seems to have it as bad as you and you’re feeling really sorry for yourself. Don’t give up hoping for a brighter future. You don’t have to live with such negative thoughts. Helping a neighbour who is having problems will soon shift this mood and make you feel emotionally lighter.
.
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) A group campaigning for or against change will approach you expecting your support. Should there be any legal or professional reasons for you to remain neutral don’t even think about getting involved. Even giving an opinion ‘off the record’ could come back and haunt you. Keep your thoughts to yourself. Someone could point out something you hadn’t noticed. This could change your views and you will be glad you didn’t share your ideas earlier!
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) Walk around and get a feel for the place if you’re thinking of renting or buying a new home. A small, crowded place wouldn’t suit you; you have always needed a feeling of space around you. Equally you need an uncluttered mind to be able to make clear and positive decisions. If your thoughts are all over the place and you’re thinking about too many things at once, you aren’t going to be as resolute as normal.
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) You’ve found a perfect formula if you’re in a relationship where one person’s strengths make up for another’s weaknesses. A number of projects are lined up where you can share each other’s expertise. Expect a few squabbles ahead in terms of sticking to timescales and budgets but these are unlikely to be anything major. An elderly relative may need advice about a healthcare problem.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) You could be offered a measly price for an item that’s worth so much more; don’t accept it even if you are desperate. There may not be a need for such drastic measures to bring in some cash. A little extra money could be coming your way soon. Double check an invoice if you think it’s higher than it should be. If you’re taking out any kind of insurance check you are covered for everything you need to be.
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) Reactions will be quick and instinctive; your emotions and intuition are exceptionally strong today. No person or organisation will be able to manipulate you when you will stick by a knee jerk reaction no matter what. You recognise it was absolutely right for the moment. You won’t put up with any unfair criticism now. A financial dispute could be the source of today’s challenges.
