Soulmate or Imposter? Pay attention to details
Who hasn't had a great reading about a new love, or some other good fortune, and wondered if maybe the psychic's timing was a little off - more out of impatience than anything else. It's not uncommon that when waiting for something as wonderful, exciting and life-enhancing as true love to finally enter our lives, we can be so overly eager to meet "the one" that we can mistake an imposter for the real thing.
"It's hard to break a caller's bubble, when they think they've met the soulmate you predicted they'd soon find," tells Miss Krystal ext. 9192, "but in reality, they've ignored the important details about the reading. The person they've met, or even gotten deeply involved with… doesn't quite fit the picture you had conveyed to them, because they didn't pay attention to the details. You just have to hope that they will trust your guidance and not get seriously sidetracked along their path and miss their true destiny in the meantime," the Clairvoyant, Empath and Medium suggests.
Julianne (not her real name) a 33-year-old French transplant, first called Miss Krystal with the one key question that was keeping her life from being truly perfect, "Where is my love life going?"
Miss Krystal could see that Julianne was actively dating several men. "It looks like fun, but there's no substance…" her guides pointed out. She even suspected that the highly successful professional photographer was rotation dating (with a steady date on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights) to keep from getting involved with anyone seriously.
Julianne laughed in agreement. "I'd never consider getting serious with any of these guys. I've already married and divorced two New York actor-types."
"I have a prediction," Miss Krystal announced. "My guides say your soulmate is coming in...You will meet him in 2009!" The intuitive saw the "future" couple as being surprisingly similar in their look, background and even financial status. They would both be interested in a permanent relationship, Miss Krystal revealed, and their connection would be accepting and relaxed. "This person will be a best friend."
Months later, Julianne called Miss Krystal back, saying that the psychic had been right on and she had met her soulmate - a nice easygoing guy, with French grandparents. "We're engaged!" she announced happily.
"Wow! After two months - that's fast!" the psychic responded. She was sure that this man was not Julianne's soulmate. She didn't see a wedding between them, so she found that encouraging. "But, I'm not the Dr. Phil of psychics, I couldn't just upset her and say, Hey get real! This can't be him. But, I did tell her to take it slow and to wait a year before getting married. Then I reminded her that it was only 2008 and that my prediction had been for 2009."
Months later Julianne called again. She had given her fiancé a pre-nuptual agreement, because she had always understood that any man who could take care of himself would agree to her need for financial protection. Julianne was well known in photography circles and commanded a hefty day rate for her work. She had family money and owned property in France. "The pre-nuptual didn't stop either of my other marriages, but Ross went ballistic. I ended up just giving him back the ring. During his rage, I realized that he knew more about my finances than I had ever let on… and apparently he'd been on his best behavior for months - I had no idea he could be so abusive!"
"Thank you for suggesting that I take it slow and set a wedding date far in advance," Julianne stated with a deep sense of relief.
"Well, I did say 2009 would be the year you'd meet your soulmate," Miss Krystal reminded her client. "And I still see that. This guy was an imposter, but luckily he revealed his true colors," she added relieved that Julianne had listened to her suggestions. "Your true soulmate, will be much like you. I keep seeing two tall people holding hands. It didn't fit that you described your fiancé as being shorter than you are."
Weeks ago, Julianne called Miss Krystal again. She had gone home to France to see her family and met a man whose own relatives lived in a neighboring city. Thierry also had been living and working in Manhattan for years. The attraction was immediate. Both had attended the same art school at different times and he was as financially solvent, if not more so, she reported with great relish.
"I see how different things are when two people truly connect. I can't believe that I had to go home to meet the right guy. He lives in my neighborhood in New York…we were born just miles from each other on another continent, we both speak fluent French - and he's tall. It's so much fun! You're right on Miss Krystal. You nailed this one."
And this time, Miss Krystal agreed.

What's Your Mantra? Make a positive change
Using a mantra is a powerful way of invoking spiritual energies to change something in your life. Perhaps you want a sense of peace, or to atone for a wrong you've committed, or to open up your spiritual nature. Whatever you desire, a mantra may be the key to achieving your new state of mind.
The practice of repeating a mantra is older than recorded history and came from the ancient Hindu empire in India. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, it's somewhat like a prayer - it's a repetition of charged spiritual words combined with a set intention. Traditionally, these words were chosen by a guru to catalyze spiritual development and change in you.
Today, many people choose their own mantra to help them with the change they seek. How would you start? First, consider your intention. Common themes for mantra meditation are: commitment, enlightenment, creativity, appeasement, increase and atonement.
Then, work with a spiritual tradition that makes you feel comfortable. You can work with the name of your God, one of the saints, a mystic, one of the angels or divinities, gods, goddesses or devas. You should feel drawn to a couple of names, then check to see what they symbolize. If the divinity and your intention synchronize, then you're ready for the next step.
If it's a name that's unfamiliar to you, or you've never heard it aloud, do a little Internet research on the pronunciation. Then, sit with your back supported and relax. Repeat the mantra in rhythm with your breath. You should quickly feel a lightening and expansiveness. Yet, soon your mind will wander, each time gently bring your focus back to the mantra. Over time, your ability to concentrate will grow.
As you progress, it's important to remember that your spiritual needs will shift in response to the currents of your life. It's always a good idea to shift your mantra when your life or your intentions for your life change.
The practice of mantra is thought to take the power invested in the name of the divinity and confer some of that energy into the practitioner with each repetition. The Tibetan Buddhists believe that reciting a mantra conveys entire spiritual teachings in the syllables of the name of the divinity - the more repetitions, the more power is held in the practitioner, and the greater the connection to the Divine.
After even a few sessions of mantra practice you should notice a lightening in your spirit and an increase in your energy and ability to concentrate. Soon, you should also see and feel results related to your intention.

Your New Direction! Turn discontent into creativity
If you're experiencing discontent, unhappiness, tension and anxiety (who isn't these days?), exercising your creativity is a perfect outlet for uncomfortable emotions. When you engage creatively, you embark on a pure journey of "self." As in self-exploration, self-expression and self-discovery.
Along the way, you might be surprised by how the creative process helps relieve stress and tension. When you become engrossed in a project, nagging worries and negative thoughts often fall away. If you're really engrossed, the passing of time seems to disappear. The creative process has been known not only to ease stress, but also to help reduce pain and improve mental and emotional health. Creativity is healing.
Even if you don't normally think of yourself as a creative person, a little push in the right direction can help you make use of your innate inventiveness. Getting creative doesn't mean making a masterpiece or a beautiful work of art. What matters most is the creative process itself. It's okay if the end result is miles from a Mona Lisa or a long way from a Shakespearean sonnet. If it's meaningful to you, then it's a success!
On that note
Blues music is a perfect example of how something sad can be transformed by a creative act. There's a lot of heartbreak in the blues, but there's also rhythm and humor and there are stories we can all relate to. Blues players can learn the style and sing the songs, but the greatest of them play the blues best because they've experienced them first hand and have learned to process their pain creatively.
So the next time you get the blues or when discontent and restlessness set in, transform these feelings into something positive by flexing a little artistic muscle. Your discontent can be the catalyst for creative healing! Here are just a few ideas to get you started.
Write it down
Keep a journal or notebook and write out whatever is bothering you. If you're having trouble getting started, try making three lists - nouns, verbs and adjectives - associated with what's going on in your life now. Next, make another three lists associated with how you want to feel or what you'd like to be doing. After you've made your lists of words, you can experiment. String together the nouns, verbs and adjectives from your lists into sentences. You might end up with a poem or the beginning of a story, or lyrics to a song.
A self-portrait
You can use any medium to make a self-portrait - drawing, painting, sculpting, photography or crafting - but collage might be the best option because you don't have to create the words and images yourself, you just have to choose and put them together. In this self-portrait project, you can create a collage for your current self (how you are now) your past self (how you were) and future self (how you'd like to be).
Gathering words, images, artifacts and other objects can be a therapeutic process. Start with three shoe boxes labeled past, present and future, and place your collage pieces in them until you think you have enough to start putting together your portraits. This project can help you see yourself in a new way. When you're done, you'll have a visual representation to help inspire you on your path.
Something new
Learning something new wakes up the brain and feeds your creativity. When you're feeling the weight of inertia and discontent, learning something new can shift your focus and refresh your perspective. It doesn't matter if you don't know what you're doing at first - the point is to begin the process of discovery. Pick up a guitar, play around with the harmonica, pop in the power yoga for beginners DVD and see where it takes you.
If you're already skilled in a creative medium, such as music, drawing, painting or writing, you can shake things up by trying a new technique or changing your surroundings. Write in a café instead of at home. Take a sketchbook to the bowling alley. Or set up your easel at the farmer's market.
Child's play
Children are exceptionally creative by nature. No matter how old you are, there is a still a kid in you. Why not indulge that person? Buy yourself some art supplies - colored paper and ink pens, Elmer's glue, a sketchbook and pencils, maybe even a set of watercolors - and get to work! Don't know where to start? Draw a picture of your tension, anger or unhappiness. Then bust out the pens or paints and start coloring. You'll be amazed at the release you can get from your self-expression.
Do a blog
If you like to write or have a particular interest (cooking, sports, fitness, etc.) or just want to rant, you could start or simply join a blog (short for web log). It's easy. There are many sites (blogger.com, wordpress.org, typepad.com, livejournal.com) that offer free blogs and require little technical skill to get started. Or go to CaliforniaPsychics.com and click on the blog to join our own community. All you have to do is sign up online and start blogging! You can make your own blog about anything you want. But keep in mind, blogs are public, so think before you publish. But don't forget to have fun, too!
When you channel discontent creatively, you not only get the better of it, you get the best out of it. It can be fuel for your creative fire, sparking new insights and lighting up your life!
