#USA - Boeing Shares are Lower on Delay of New Tankers to Miliary: TheStreet

Boeing shares are falling Monday after the announcement late last week that the company will delay delivery of new KC-46 tankers to the U.S. military. Boeing was supposed to deliver 18 KC-46 tankers by August 2017, but now that won't happen until early 2018. Analysts say the announcement was a surprise since Boeing seemed confident about its ability to deliver just three weeks ago at its annual investor day. The $40 billion program is already more than $1 billion over budget, according to analysts at Canaccord Genuity, which have a hold rating on the stock.

Peter Secker, chief executive of Bacanora Minerals Ltd's (LON:BCN, CVE:BCN) says the market for lithium could double over the next decade, in tandem with the rise of renewable energy.

Lithium batteries store energy from renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, and Secker says “lithium is becoming more and more an everyday commodity and significant consumption increases over the next decade are going to see demand growth from about 180,000 tonnes a year that it is currently to anywhere north of 350,000 tonnes a year.”

He adds that there is “very limited new supply coming into the market”.

Bacanora is currently developing the Sonora lithium deposit in Mexico with the feasibility study scheduled to be delivered in in the first quarter of 2017.

The CWA called the deal a victory for working families. Crude oil prices are quiet as investors wait for cues from OPEC on oversupply. OPEC meets Thursday and will discuss what to do with oil production after prices hit $50 a barrel last week. Oil prices have doubled since hitting lows over the winter. Viacom's board is preparing for a fight with the Redstones. The Wall Street Journal says board members are anticipating their ouster and and will argue that former Chairman Sumner Redstone doesn't have the mental competency to act of his own free will.

In this web extra, Efraim Halevy tells Mehdi Hasan that he is not concerned that Israel had treated fighters in Syria from al-Nusra Front who some say is al-Qaeda's Syrian branch.

"It's always useful […] to deal with your enemies in a humane way," Halevy says.

When pressed on whether he believed the assistance was purely humanitarian Halevy responds, "I didn't say there's no tactical [consideration]. I said the main consideration, the immediate consideration is humane."

Halevy also says he would not support the treatment of wounded Hezbollah fighters because Israel had been targeted by Hezbollah, but "not specifically targeted by al-Qaeda"

Many Opec members have suffered as the oil price has collapsed and countries, most notably Saudi Arabia and Iran, have fought to retain market share rather than set prices by adjusting production. Unarguably the price war has also hurt the U.S. shale industry as many Opec members had wanted. Increased demand because of the low prices is adding to their optimism that the price war has worked. The higher prices mean oil producers can breathe a little easier, although even at $50 those prices aren’t making money.

Iraqi special and counter-terrorism forces have entered the Daesh-held city of Fallujah in Anbar province as part of a major offensive to flush out the terrorists.

This is the third phase of the massive operation, which began in the early hours of Monday, and marks the start of an urban combat against the terror group. Iraqi commanders say their forces are marching from three directions on the city which lies some 50 kilometers west of Baghdad. The assault follows week-long attacks that saw the recapture of surrounding villages. Rights groups, meanwhile, say some three-thousand people have managed to escape the city. Fallujah fell to Daesh in the summer of 2014. About 50000 people are believed to be trapped in the city proper.

A German opposition leader has had a chocolate cake shoved in her face in an apparent protest over her stance on migrants.

Sahra Wagenknecht is a prominent member of Germany's far-left Linke party, which was meeting in Magdeburg when the attack took place.

She has called for a limit on the number of refugees Germany should accept, which has put her at odds with others in her party.

A group calling itself Anti-Fascist Initiative "Cake for Misanthropists'' distributed flyers, pointing to her position on migrants as their motive.
