http://www.euronews.com/ Two explosions have rocked the Syrian capital Damascus, killing dozens of people, including police officers, according to state television.

Preliminary reports suggest vehicles packed with explosives were blown up in a targetted attack against both the headquarters for aviation intelligence and criminal security.

Whilst official news reports are blaming terrorists, the opposition has accused the government of carrying out similar incidents.

Meanwhile protesters in the capital have been showing their backing for the opposition. The demonstrators shouted "Assad is god's enemy" and "Idlib, we are with you til death!" in support of the northern province taken from the rebels after a four-day government offensive that caused many to flee to neighbouring Turkey.

Unverified amateur video online purports to show opposition supporters marching in the northern city of Raqqa, before security forces open fire on the hundreds of protesters.
