Russell Grant's Daily Horoscopes for Saturday 17th December 2011

.
.
Aries (Mar21/Apr20) Getting a medical or dental consultation is strongly advised. That way, you'll be in good shape once Christmas gets cracking. A doctor or dentist might detect a small problem in its infancy stage. By getting treatment now, you'll avoid further complications. Be ready to go on a diet or step up your fitness routine. It's not good for an active person like you to be weighed down by rich food and calorific drinks. Lean meats, whole grains, and fresh vegetables will keep you in fine form.
  .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) Romance is your first priority. While everyone else is busy shopping and making plans for the festive season, you are pining for someone who has captured your heart. Fortunately, it looks as if the object of your affection shares your feelings. Securing their affections will be a challenge. It looks like your amour loves the thrill of the chase. Normally, you don't like taking risks, especially when it comes to affairs of the heart. This situation requires you to go out on a limb.
  .
Gemini (May22/Jun21) Family activities are highly favoured. Gather the gang together to decorate the house, make special food, and clear out the clutter. Play seasonal songs as you work. There's no reason this work session can't be a festive occasion. If you're on your own, think of ways to cultivate a cosy atmosphere among friends and neighbours. This is the time of year when everyone wants to belong. It doesn't matter how offbeat or unorthodox your social circle is. The important thing is you gather together to enjoy each other's company.
  .
Cancer (Jun22/Jul23) Your phone won't stop ringing. It seems like everybody wants your ear. Neighbours and relatives are especially insistent on getting an audience. You might have to travel a short distance to attend to a family matter. If you want to avoid being on call all the time, you'll have to teach a relative how to conduct your duties. Alternatively, you can hire a professional nurse or caretaker to attend to the tasks you normally perform. It's not fair to put all the pressure on you.
  .
Leo (Jul24/Aug23) Shopping for practical gadgets is favoured. You will get a good price on a car, computer, or kitchen appliance. Of course, it pays to be as informed as possible before you set foot in a showroom. That way, you'll be able to ask intelligent questions and avoid slick sales pitches. As a general rule, you prefer showier models to ones known for their durability. This time you won't have to sacrifice quality for style. Buying a base model will result in a significant savings.
  .
Virgo (Aug24/Sep23) You'll be busier than usual, finishing up tasks and putting the last touches to your festive preparations. It feels great to be so productive, but don't forget to take well timed breaks. Going through life as if you're running a race will lead to burnout. You've got to pause and take time for leisurely activities that feed your spirit, like reading and writing. Working with your hands is also soothing. Pottery, knitting, and baking are all good ways to ease your restless mind.
  .
Libra (Sep24/Oct23) Working behind the scenes is critical to your success. Don't tell rivals about your plans, or they will undermine your progress. You may not realise it, but people are very jealous of your talent. They'll do anything in their power to make you look foolish. Fortunately, you have a tendency to do things by the book, which makes it difficult to question your methods. Nobody can accuse you of cutting corners. In fact, you're often accused of being overly fastidious.
  .
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) Keep a tight rein on your obligations. Although your instinct is to help anyone who asks for it, you have to be more discerning. Loading up your schedule with lots of tasks will just make you tired and irritable. Focus on one or two commitments that have personal meaning for you. Doing research for someone special will be a good use of your talent. You have a knack for digging up useful facts and figures that will benefit the community.
  .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) The only way to realise your ambition is to embark on a programme of self promotion. You can't expect others to intuit your talents. Although you aren't a braggart, you do enjoy talking about your favourite subjects. Anyone with half a brain will realise you've got expert knowledge. It's also important to emphasise your organisational skills. Therefore, you've got to focus on getting an interview with a potential employer. Once you get a foot in the door, things will start happening.
  .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) Long distance travel and cultural pursuits capture your imagination. This is a great time to plan a trip to an historic city. Going away for Christmas may be a good way to avoid a family feud. You're tired of trying to keep the peace while everyone seems intent on fighting. The good news is you can find a great deal on a package tour. Exploring museums, art galleries, and boutiques will make this a very memorable Christmas.
  .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) You're tired of suppressing your physical urges. It's time to make your desires known, even at the risk of rejection. Fortunately, your allure is at an all time high. It will be difficult to resist your charms. If you're single and don't have any interesting prospects on the horizon, head out. You could meet someone special at a book club, library, or discussion group. There are new influences and involvements just waiting to come into your life.
  .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) Two heads are better than one. By teaming up with people with a fine eye for detail, you'll make impressive progress. This is a great time to attend to little projects that ordinarily escape your attention. Go through that huge pile of mail, return phone messages, and fill the pantry. The last thing you want to do is spend your free time on such trivial jobs. Once you cross them off your list you'll feel so much better.
