Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) Plans To Reformulate Products. Baby Shampoo still contains formaldehyde-releasing chemicals

Uploaded by on Nov 17, 2011
Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) announced today a plan to remove harmful chemicals from all of its baby products worldwide. The reformulation comes after the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics published a report revealing that Johnson's Baby Shampoo still contains formaldehyde-releasing chemicals in the U.S., Canada, and China, even though formaldehyde-free versions of the product are available in several other countries.

Stacy Malkan, co-founder of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and author of the initial report responded to Johnson & Johnson's announcement saying, "Other major baby brands must now follow suit. Clearly, there is no need to be exposing babies to cancer-causing chemicals in the bathtub. Many companies are already making bath products without carcinogens and that's what all companies should be doing."

Malkan added that other top children's bath products made by Huggies, L'Oreal, Grins & Giggles, Baby Magic, Sesame Street, and CVS also contain the same harmful chemicals.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) is currently trading down 0.68% at $63.95 in the early morning session.
