Syria - More than 100 die as Country signs Arab League deal

http://www.euronews.net/ While Syria was signing an Arab League peace plan aimed at ending months of bloodshed, more than 100 people died in various incidents across the country.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, more than 60 army deserters were shot dead. Forty civilians were also killed in the continuing crackdown.

Britain - Chancellor George Osborne confirms banking changes

Chancellor George Osborne has said he will implement most of the recommendations of the Vickers banking report , to try to prevent a repeat of the 2008 banking crisis.

Mr Osborne said he would introduce a ring-fence mechanism to protect retail banking from riskier investment activities and he also said state-owned RBS would reduce the size of its investment bank.
