The Lincoln Lawyer (film)

Plot

Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey) is a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney who operates out of the back of his Lincoln sedan. Haller has spent most of his career defending garden-variety criminals, until he lands the case of his career: Louis Roulet (Ryan Phillippe), a Beverly Hills playboy and son of a major businessman who is accused of rape and attempted murder. But the seemingly straightforward case suddenly develops into a deadly game of survival for Haller.

Haller is chosen to represent Roulet who is seemingly innocent and was caught up at the wrong place at the wrong time. As Haller analyzes the pictures and evidence, it becomes more evident that it is similar to a past case he had which landed a previous client, Jesus Martinez (Michael Peña), in jail for murder with a 15 to life sentence rather than the needle.

After realizing Roulet could be the killer of that previous case, his investigator Frank is mysteriously killed after leaving a voicemail stating to have found a ticket that could prove Roulet guilty of the previous case. Before he could release more information in the voicemail, Frank hangs up stating there was a knock at the door. Haller is suspected of killing Frank due to a collectors gun missing from his house that was used to kill Frank.

Roulet is found innocent in the current case but then arrested immediately for the previous murder case. He attempts to kill Haller's family, but Haller finds out in time to get them out of the house. He meets Roulet as Roulet arrives at Haller's family's house. Roulet is attacked by the bikers Haller has previously represented many times and Haller walks away. Upon arriving home, he discovers Roulet's mother inside and she shoots him with the same gun that shot Frank. She confesses that it was she who killed Frank. After she shoots Haller, Haller shoots her, possibly killing her.

In the end, Haller discovers that Frank found a parking ticket issued to Roulet by the house of the murdered victim proving him guilty of murder and Martinez will be released.

Russell Grant's Daily Horoscopes for Friday 18th March 2011

.

Aries (Mar21/Apr20) It feels like you have very few friends and it's probably because you've had to make some difficult decisions. Although you hate disappointing people, you need to cut costs in order to keep an organisation afloat. If that means firing someone or reducing their hours, so be it. You'll be able to make restitution when the financial picture gets better. Right now you have to sacrifice one part to save the whole. That's the worst thing about being a leader.
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) Health problems need your attention and masking the symptoms with over the counter medications won't help. You need a specialist to look at a recurring problem. If you're not happy with the doctor you're currently seeing, go to another. You will fare best with a health professional who has a practical, hands on approach. People who use lots of theoretical language make you impatient. You're not interested in possible causes of the issue; you want action.
 .
Gemini (May22/Jun21) Taking responsibility for a youngster is never easy, but it's necessary. Whether you're becoming a parent for the first time or just babysitting for a single night, you're not thrilled by the prospect. That's because you're focused on all the work involved. If you think about it, spending time with little ones is like reliving your own childhood. This time you're able to do things on your own terms. You have the freedom of an adult, but the outlook of a fun loving child.
 .
Cancer (Jun22/Jul23) Family responsibilities are weighing you down. Normally, you're happy to do whatever it takes to help your relatives. Lately your efforts to make life easier have been met with resentment. Maybe it's a sign you need to back off. Nobody likes to feel as if they're being patronised. Turn your focus onto yourself. Make a plan to increase your influence in the public sphere. Spearheading a charity drive will be a good use of your time and talent.
 .
Leo (Jul24/Aug23) Pessimism is your worst enemy and lately, you've come to expect disaster at every turn. It's certainly understandable, given the recent series of misfortunes you have experienced. Still, there remain a few positive things from the wreckage. For one thing, you're no longer tied down by a job or relationship. You have the freedom to write a book, travel to a foreign country, or seek further education. For another, you can finally build a lifestyle which is more in keeping with your values.
 .
Virgo (Aug24/Sep23) A financial shortage makes you frustrated and angry. You yearn to help a loved one who has fallen on hard times, but you're barely keeping afloat yourself. When times get tough, the solution is pulling together. Pool your resources. Spend more time together. Find cheap ways of having fun. Lend your possessions to others, and don't hesitate to borrow things you don't have. Eventually, this lean period will end, and you'll look back on it as formative and even rewarding.
 .
Libra (Sep24/Oct23) You're not in the best of health, probably because you have been worrying about someone else's welfare. Instead of putting everybody's needs ahead of your own, you've got to do the opposite. Take the day off, get some extra sleep, and catch up on the personal matters that have slipped through the cracks. Whether it's buying groceries, doing a load of laundry, or simply catching up on your reading is immaterial. The important thing is to do what's best for you.
 .
принцесса не знает, где она будет испорчена. Интересно, что мешает ее?
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) It's critical to play by an institution's rules. Demanding special treatment will just cause unnecessary problems. Although you despise some of the constraints being imposed on you, it's not as if you're the only one who is forced to cope with them. Swallow your pride, complete the program, and move on. Exercise can be a healthy outlet for your frustration. So why not take yourself off for a run round the block, or a long walk in a scenic setting?
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) Sometimes it's hard to have fun with friends who have a lot more money at their disposal. You can't afford to go to the same restaurants or take glamorous holidays. In fact, expensive trappings have very little meaning for you. You'd rather spend a casual evening at home with a group of friends than go out for a night on the town. The next time you're invited to some extravaganza, explain how you feel. You don't want resentment to set in.
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) An embarrassing mistake comes back to haunt you. The only thing you can do to reduce the damage is offer a sincere apology. Assume all the responsibility yourself. Resist the urge to make the weakest member of your team a scapegoat. Your mature stance will impress even your deepest sceptics. These days, everybody is all too willing to lay the blame on others. Fortunately, you have no interest in saving face; you just want to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) You can't seem to catch a break when it comes to work opportunities. Although you have impressive knowledge of a specialised field, there simply aren't any job openings. Instead of cursing your misfortune, make a new plan. Take a position that is beneath your ability, but appeals to your humanitarian spirit. Eventually, a position tailor made for you will arrive, but only if you pay your dues. Adopting a humble attitude will be good for you in the long run.
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) A heavy tax burden or interest payments are putting a drain on your finances. It's time to find a new source of income. Your best opportunities are related to mechanics, rescue work, and security. If you're thinking of launching your own business you're going to need someone who is able to get things organised and nail down the practical details of this venture while you focus on its vision.
