#Finland - The Thief Next Door: Russia's rich history of annexing neighbouring countries: UKRAINE TODAY

Published on 7 Jun 2016
Finland... the thought of Vladimir Putin doesn't quite come to mind at the first mention of it. But, a small Finnish autonomy, the Aland islands is living under the vast shadow of the Kremlin.

The trip begins at a central bus station. Although it may sound warm and exotic the actual climate here is damp and cold. Aland - nearly seven thousand rocky islands, a region that encompasses an archipelago at the entrance of the Gulf of Bothnia in the Baltic Sea. Just like Ukraine's Crimea, Aland is an autonomous region and although nowadays it is the only Swedish-speaking region in Finland... Aland islands were under the rule of the Russian Empire. And seemingly, Russia's interest in the Finnish autonomy has not faded yet.

So what's it like for the Finns to live right beside a neighbour that stole a part of their land? From a Ukrainian standpoint that sounds way-too-familiar.

The Kremlin grip on the neighbouring ex-Soviet states is evident, but it's not that easy to spot in Finland, at least not with a naked eye.

The phenomena of cross-border shopping. It is a part of the Finland/Russia frontier too. The Russian language can be heard everywhere here. Special buses bring shoppers here several times a day.

#Russia - Putin vows Russian retaliation over US missile system. PressTV News Videos

Published on 27 May 2016
Russian President Vladimir Putin has renewed criticism of the deployment of US missile systems in Europe warning of consequences. Putin made the comments at a joint press conference alongside the Greek Prime Minister in Athens. He described the installation of such systems in some European countries including Poland and Romania as a direct threat to Russia. Putin warned both countries that they could find themselves in Russia's sights. He further cautioned Washington against deployment of its missile shields in Russia’s neighboring countries warning that the move leaves Moscow with no choice but to retaliate. The Russian president has already condemned the deployment as a clear violation of arms treaties signed between Moscow and Washington saying that it would escalate international tensions.

#Russia - says Savchenko exchange deal was not linked to Minsk accords: euronews (in English)

Published on 27 May 2016
The handover of Nadiya Savchenko in return for two Russian prisoners who were flown back to Moscow was cast as a humanitarian gesture by Vladimir Putin.

#Russia - Putin vows to neutralize threats posed by US missile system in Europe

Published on 13 May 2016
The Russian president warns that Moscow will act to neutralize the threats posed by a US missile system in Europe.

Speaking to top defense and military industry officials, Putin said the US missile system threatens global security. Putin said the system is aimed at blunting Russia's nuclear arsenal adding that Washington is using pretexts to develop it. The remarks came a day after the United States switched on an 800 million dollar missile system in Romania. The two missile systems in Romania and Poland are part of NATO's larger European missile system, due to become fully operational by 2018. The US and NATO claim that the system is not aimed against Russia, but Moscow views it as a security threat on its doorstep.

The price of the "Putin´s Covert War in Ukraine" 1000 + graves of fallen militants in one cemetery near Donetsk

Published on 10 Jun 2015
https://informnapalm.org/9722-duhovny...

Recent satellite images of the area have also confirmed our assumptions, pointing to the full scale of the burials. It should be noted that more than 1,136 dead are only rough estimates for the period in question, and on one particular cemetery. It is unknown how many these cemeteries and mass graves are, but if you take this figure as an example and assume that the number of such cemeteries is at least five to seven for all "DPR", the number of fighters killed in the war, with a lot of them being Russian citizens, jumps to seven or eight thousand people. Thousands of lives lost just in the area of one city, and that does not include the Luhansk region. Tens of thousands physically and mentally crippled people - this is the price of imperial invasion and undeclared covert war. Price is only paid by one party of the conflict, party that is proud of "Russian Spring / Русская весна" and of "CrimeaIsOurs."
