euronews science: Life in the Dead Sea

http://www.euronews.net/ The deepest point on the surface of Earth is the Dead Sea in Israel. Now a joint Israeli-German team of scientists has found several freshwater spring systems on the floor of the Dead Sea.

Their presence has been suspected for decades as concentric ripples on the surface of the water are visible near the shore, but it is only now been confirmed by divers.

30 metres under the surface, equipped with underwater cameras, the divers collected water samples from cracks in the sea floor and discovered cunknown micro-organisms.

http://www.euronews.net/ Two female journalists have been describing how they were sexually abused while attempting to cover the protests in Cairo's Tahrir Square.

French TV reporter Caroline Sinz told how she and her cameraman were set upon by a mob:"We were hit, and then separated. Very few women, especially foreign, are in Tahrir Square. I was grabbed by several men and I suffered a sexual assault in front of everyone in full daylight. Other women journalists were physically attacked. It is a way to intimidate the press."

وقال مراسل التلفزيون الفرنسية كارولين Sinz كيف تم تعيين انها ومصورها عليها من قبل الغوغاء : "ضربت ونحن ، وفصلها ثم قلة قليلة من النساء، وخصوصا الأجنبية، في ميدان التحرير وأمسكت عن طريق العديد من الرجال وعانيت جنسية. اعتداء امام الجميع في وضح النهار، وتم الاعتداء على الصحفيات أخرى، وهي وسيلة لترهيب الصحافة ".
