How To Re-Establish A Vodka Empire Director Daniel Edelstyn talks to us at the official launch of the 55th BFI London Film Festival 2011. We talk about the very exciting lineup of films for this year's festival and the important work of the BFI.
Every year the BFI London Film Festival showcases a fantastic array of the very best of world cinema from hollywood blockbusters to a full range of independent international films.
This documentary film tells the story of film-maker Daniel Edlestyne who follows journals written by his grandmother to trace his families history back to the Ukraine. There he discovers a vodka distillery his ancestors once owned. he becomes possessed by the notion that he could re-brand the vodka and rebuild the fortunes of his family and the entire village in the process.
