USA - Police Ask Missing Boy's Mom to Come in to Talk

Investigators are asking the mother of a missing Washington boy to voluntarily come into the police station to answer more questions. Police say Julia Biryukova isn't a suspect or even a person of interest. (Nov. 10)

http://www.euronews.net/ The deaths continue in the crackdown on protesters in Syria with another twenty-five people killed on Thursday, according to activists. Fourteen of them are said to be civilians.

There are claims that three of the people killed were defectors from the army who refused to fire live ammunition at the crowds. There are also reports that an eight year old girl was one of the casualties.

Europe - Bini Smaghi's resignation ends ECB row

http://www.euronews.net/ Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, the Italian on the European Central Bank executive board is quitting to go and teach at Harvard University in the United States.

After another Italian, Mario Draghi, replaced Jean Claude Trichet as head of the ECB, President Nicolas Sarkozy complained there was no French member on the board while Italy had two.

Bini Smaghi's resignation defuses a row between Paris and Rome.
