Do you remember 19 October 1987? Are investors panicking without reason?

No doubt about it, a lot of traders are nervous this week.

Why?

It could be because this week is the 20th anniversary of BLACK MONDAY, the crash of '87.

Many reading this email may be too young to remember the biggest single day drop in the history of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. On the 19th of October 1987 the Dow dropped a jaw dropping 23% in one day.

In case you are wondering the biggest single day crash in 1929 was 12.9% on October 28th 1929.

Can it happen again?

That's the question BARRONS posed on the front page of its weekly newspaper.

In a current poll conducting here (http://ino.directtrack.com/z/24/CD16/) the vote is "Yes it can."

I have just completed watching a new video to show how you can protect yourself no matter what happens to the market.

You can watch it here. No registration required - http://ino.directtrack.com/z/87/CD16/

Be prepared this could be the most dangerous week of the year. This could be the week that makes or breaks your year.

Sincerely.

Confused

Admiral plc has ended talks about the sale of a chunk of the website, www.confused.com, its premium trawling subsidiary. Potential investors interest had implied a valuation of 600m to 800m pounds sterling. www.moneymarket.com investors put a value of 1bn pounds sterling and plan an IPO shortly. www.directline.com in their television advertisments advise viewers not to shop at price comparision websites saying that third parties are paid a commission.

www.itccommunications.net had daily Alexa rankings of 125,000 to 175,000 maybe higher but still has not generated a viable revenue from its advertisers via affiliate programs.

This would imply that affiliates are being cheated by their affiliate networks/merchants* or that the aforementioned websites figures should be treated with caution.

* a relative booked a hotel room with one of Accor´s hotels in Madrid last August through the correct link and still we have not received the commission. (Affiliate Network – Tradedoubler)

Formula 1 - Lewis Hamilton vs. Fernando Alonso

Anyone following my blog on Formula 1 should have picked up the body language between the two McLaren drivers and I was very interested to read after the British Grand Prix an article on Ron Dennis.

Dennis made sure that he praised double world champion Fernando Alonso, 14 points behind Hamilton in the championship and third in Saturday's qualifying, as much as the local hero.

Alonso, now outqualified for four races in a row by his precocious team mate, had looked every bit as downcast as his employer as reporters fired question after question at Hamilton.

"If I start eulogising about anybody, I would probably start with Fernando," said Dennis.

"He's a double world champion who really gets on with the job and is very focused and really has an intense desire to win. With Lewis it is easy to eulogise about his performance because he is new to Formula One. But I want to be balanced."

Personally I am getting a bit fed up with Lewis Hamilton been pushed down my throat by the media and maybe coming third today may have brought Lewis Hamilton down to reality. A great driver yes, but then so are the other top 3 contenders and maybe if BMW and Renault can find more speed and Toyota more reliability there could be a ten way battle, not forgetting Williams, Honda and Red Bull that are improving
