1) Either they found her profile on a social meeting site, similar to the one mentioned by Dasha. Offered her a free modelling portfolio to obtain beautiful photos which they could use without revealing that they would be used on an online dating site. From time to time they would invite her for further free photo shoots saying that they were sorry that they had not found her a modelling job and that is why they wanted more photos. (My worry here is that as mentioned above these modelling promises are the bait to obtain women and then forcing them into prostitution). They could have done this with most of the 800 ladies that they say they have on their website.

2) She could have been genuinely writing to me (although men that actually visit the Ukraine report that this agency´s ladies do not remember writing to the man). I do not know if my lady is married, that between February and December 2008 she was working as a nanny in Germany. The agency could have said this to prevent us meeting (see my first paragraph). My question of me staying in Donetsk or where she lives Gorlovka to this day remains unanswered, and I must suspect that the question was never relayed to the lady. There were many examples in the 80 letters where it was evident that the lady did not write the letter as whole parts of the letter were copied and pasted by the translator from an American website.

3) If you have already signed up with an agency did they promise you that they would find a suitable partner? If you go back and read the pages of posts concerning Confidential Connections, UALadys, UADreams, and all the other incarnations you will see a pattern of activity:

1. Form letters sent to multiple recipients, who believe the correspondence is for them only.

the editor, a person in Australian and a person in Venezuela received identicat letters from several women - see here

2. Women who mysteriously "go to St. Petersburg" when you press for a chance to meet them at the home office.

3. For the men who do make the trip to Ukraine, their chosen girl is either unavailable when they arrive, available but seemingly knows nothing about their beau, or spend a little time, and politely make a quick exit after 30 minutes.

This scam has been repeated over, and over, and over. Dozens of stories reported here and other sites around the WWW.

These websites are professional scams that take $7 a pop to send you a feel good email. Give me your credit card number and I will do the same for you for $5 a pop.

Well I put my profile here and on the 15th of this month I got a message that there was an e-mail for me. When I had gone in there replies from 10 ladies. The letter from the last one was the one that drew my attention so I wanted to have the courtesy of replying to her which I did

I did a bit of investigation and it seems that Ukrainian dating sites have got a bad reputation for scamming. They say that the translators write the letters (not the ladies), do not pass any replies onto the ladies concerned; that some ladies are corresponding with up to 60 guys; that guys have turned up in the Ukraine hoping to met the lady that has said that she wants to marry him does not show and then the agency shows other potential ladies. This is not fair to the guys and nor is it fair to the genuine ladies. Some guys complain about having to pay $7 for each e-mail but hey I think this is fair for a translation don´t you? Maybe a better business model would be to pay an introduction fee for any meeting that ended up in a wedding?

Are these ladies looking for an American/European passport or are they genuinely seeking love and marriage?
