You descend to the east of Villanueva del Rosario passing through the public housing built for rent.
A new road was completed last year and we turn left onto this to avoid the very narrow streets of the town which we could encounter had we driven straight on.
At the end of the new road we can turn right into the town to go to the shopping area, ambulatorio, library etc. or turn right to go to Málaga, Antequera, Seville or Cordoba via the Autovias (motorways) http://youtu.be/CFBVsB8JD1M

La Sierra
Villanueva del Rosario se encuentra a las faldas de la sierra de los Camarolos y el Jobo, las cuales ofrecen unos paisajes de roca caliza. Entre los puntos más destacados se encuentran El Chorro, manantial natural de agua muy apreciada por los visitantes; la dehesa de Hondonero, en la cual se pueden disfrutar de un tranquilo día en la naturaleza, las diferentes cuevas y abrigos, como la del Malnombre en donde se han encontrado pinturas rupestres, la zona de la Maera en donde se encuentra el popularmente llamado “Tajo de la Maera” en el que se puede practicar la escalada (lugar preferido por los mejores escaladores del mundo) y el rappel, y como no el pico del Chamizo que con 1.641 m de altura es el más alto de la comarca.

Semana Santa Badajoz 2012 - Virgen de la Soledad de Badajoz

Procesión de la Cofradía de Nuestra
Señora de la Soledad de Badajoz la madrugada del Viernes Santo 6 de
abril de 2012 a su paso por la Carrera Oficial (Catedral de Badajoz en
la Plaza de España) donde realiza Estación de Penitencia.
La imagen "Nuestra Señora de la Soledad" desfila de riguroso luto, desprovista de todo lujo y joyas con un simple pañuelo entre las manos. Los nazarenos van acompañados por personas que portan velas. Se reza el Santo Rosario durante el recorrido. No hay acompañamiento musical.
