Sky News Says They Have the Names and Personal Info of 22,000 ISIS Fighters
Sky News has an announcement that is the very definition of “big if true.” Here it is, in all its glory:
Tens
of thousands of documents, containing 22,000 names, addresses,
telephone numbers and family contacts of Islamic State jihadis, have
been obtained by Sky News.
Sky News is the same organization that
brought us news of that “jihadi technical college” a few weeks back, so
keeping up with radical Islamic terrorists appears to be their jam.
They have also demonstrated an ability to come out ahead of hoaxes in
the past.
Until there is outside confirmation, it won’t be
known with absolute certainty that they have the names and information
in their possession, but for now, they are saying that they have copies
of 23-question forms that every single member of the Islamic State has
filled out.
Sky News reported that among the names listed in the
documents are a number of known militants, including Reyaad Khan and
Junaid Hussain. Most important, they said, are the names of ISIS members
who were previously unknown. Their whereabouts are also listed in the
documents, which will give counter-terrorism forces a major leg up.
At the end of the article announcing their find, the organization assured readers that they have notified the authorities.
In the news
Thousands of documents detailing phone numbers and family contacts are handed to Sky News by a disillusioned convert to the group. ... who also entered in 2013, is also among those found among the registration forms.
