USA - Iowa kicks off Republican presidential race

http://www.euronews.net/ The start of the race to the White House which kicks off in Iowa today appears to be a close run thing. Former Massachusetts Governor, and front runner Mitt Romney is locked in a fight with Texas Congressman Ron Paul and former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum.

While Romney may be a favourite of the Republican establishment, 76-year-old libertarian-leaning Paul poses a major threat having spent years building up a grassroots network in Iowa.

The so-called new Basic Law reduces the size of parliament and hands over key posts in the economy, police, judiciary and the military to allies of Hungary's ruling political party,

"The main problem with the constitution is that it is destroying the constitutional order, the new Basic Law is really a one party basic law," said trade unionist Kornel Arok.
