Romania - ratifies "missile shield" deployment / România - ratifică "scutul antiracheta" de implementare

http://www.euronews.net/ Romania has ratified an agreement to host US missile interceptors on its soil, ahead of a NATO meeting in Brussels. The weapons will be deployed in 2015. While the US claims the anti-missile shield is to stop attacks from rogue states, Moscow opposes the programme saying they are effectively aimed at Russia.

http://www.euronews.net/ Sex workers in Paris have held protests after the French parliament said it would consider criminalising paying for sex in a bid to abolish prostitution.

Around 200,000 people are thought to be working in the country as prostitutes and trade unions claim the move will drive the practice underground and endanger women.

In Ireland's parliament the Irish Finance Minister, Michael Noonan has been outlining his plans to raise around 1.6 billion euros in taxes in a budget aimed at saving 3.8 billion euros. For the first time in a quarter of a century the prime minister addressed the nation on the severity of the situation.
