With regard to make predictions on stock markets I a not aware of any but you could use

Try and see if it really does predict and if so it might be a useful tool for investment

IT and Consumer Discretionary stocks most shorted ahead of earnings this week

This week sees the U.S. reach the height of its third quarter earnings season. Stocks, in the Information Technology and Consumer Discretionary sectors are seeing interesting securities lending flow ahead of their earnings announcements, including Coinstar, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSTR), First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR), PulteGroup, Inc. (NYSE:PHM), Cavium Inc. (NASDAQ:CAVM), NetGear, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTGR), SuccessFactors, Inc. (NYSE:SFSF), Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) and Lockheed Martin Corp (NYSE:LMT).

Nordic Capital Goods firms under pressure from short sellers

Whilst short interest remains low across the Nordic region, short sellers have focused on the Capital Goods sector over the last three months in the face of the slowing global economy. Names of particular interest include Nkt Holdings(CPH:NKT), Uponor (UNR1V) and the perennially shorted Vesta Wind Systems (CPH:VWS).
