Russell Grant's Daily Horoscopes: Sunday 15th August 2010

Weekly HoroscopesHoroscopes

.
Aries (Mar21/Apr20) A friend who has been going through a hard time needs taking out of themselves in order to relax. They may want to discuss some recent happenings but you know this will upset them further. In depth conversations about serious subjects should be avoided. A quiet evening with no one knocking on your door, no one dialling your number and no one making any unwanted demands would suit your needs perfectly.
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) Friends, family and the person who is closest to your heart will make this an especially pleasing and loving day for you. It doesn't matter if others aren't in the mood for hitting the town in a big way and would rather opt for quieter pleasures because you feel the same. An older relative may offer some advice about a work issue, using their experience as an example. You will listen but you may not necessarily agree with their line of thinking.
 .
Gemini (May22/June21) A crowd of people getting together, whether for business or pleasure could be a lot of fun. You will get to see a more laid back side to someone's nature. They have always been sensible and practical and you may, in the past, have wondered whether they have ever let their hair down and cut loose. It will turn out much to your delight and surprise, that they are human after all!
 .
Cancer (June22/July23) An older relative's suggestions could save you a lot of money or alert you to an allowance you are entitled to. In your close relationships there is the potential to develop a deeper understanding as long as you are brave and reveal your true feelings. Towards the end of the day you will want to throw off the demands of duty and to give work or household chores the thumbs down. Follow such a desire as much as possible even if it means leaving the workplace earlier than normal.
 .
Leo (July24/Aug23) You want to see an improvement in your family life and your home surroundings. Pull out all the stops now to create as harmonious, peaceful and relaxing an atmosphere as possible. This will mean using a degree of diplomacy and discretion and to avoid subjects that upset other people. You're willing to do whatever you have to in order to keep the peace. Once you get others smiling you will continue to do your utmost to make sure harmony prevails.
 .
Virgo (Aug24/Sept23) You could do with some kind of respite from life's duties and the pressure of everyday commitments. Whatever plans you had for the day if you aren't in the mood for them now, don't be reluctant to pull out of them. If you need a rest and simply want to relax and unwind, give in to the mood of the moment. In doing so you will find it easier to keep going over the days ahead. All you need is a little time to recharge your batteries.
 .
Libra (Sept24/Oct23) Someone might surprise you with their extravagance but you will keep your thoughts to yourself. If you're single, a charming newcomer to your social scene might tempt you to break existing plans to go along with their suggestions. This will mean pulling out of arrangements already made and people you see regularly will feel let down. For this reason accept the invitation if it appeals to you but only if you can arrange it for another time.
 .
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) You need to clear the decks of outstanding tasks. If you're working, it won't take long to work out why a senior colleague isn't in the best of moods. You're also aware that someone at work is almost ready to resign. Because of this, make certain they don't get to hear about a situation that's certain to make them blow their top. A visit to a car boot sale, antique fair or market could prove fruitful if you have the time.
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) What follows after an enlightening conversation takes you by surprise and restores your faith in humanity. It isn't every day someone makes a promise and fulfils it immediately. Expect some contention between members of a team but this is unlikely to last. You can see the brighter skies behind the clouds marring this day; this keeps you determined to stay positive and hopeful.
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) You're ready to break out of overly familiar motions and routines. A sense of adventure will guide you when making plans for today and for your future. You need to get away from familiar places. A visit to relatives, a family outing or a short trip with no particular destination might satisfy your need for change. You need interests separate from your partner to gain some independence within an intimate relationship.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) Friends and loved ones are keen to get involved in a group or sporting activity you are attending. They may not have any experience or knowledge of this but they will be of enormous assistance in supplying emotional support and refreshments. Something you see could well make history. Your inventive mind comes in useful when someone is looking for ways around a mechanical breakdown. Today you accept a past romance can never be rekindled; it's all history now.
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) A question or some sort of dilemma which crops up now won't be as hard to resolve as other people might expect. You've been through something similar. Search your memory and you will remember how you sorted out a quandary very like this one, in the past. Experience you have already been through holds the key to getting over this hurdle; a little quiet thought will provide the answer. A spur of the moment treat or outing is just what your partner or a youngster needs to cheer them up.

Goldbug100 Connaught PLC (CNT.L) - 7 days later

Chart

Aug 09, 2010
Shares in social housing maintenance group Connaught (LSE: CNT.L) were sharply lower again as it holds emergency talks with banks over a possible debt-for-equity swap that would wipe out shareholders. At the close 4:35pm: 11.00 p Down ...

8:41, Wednesday 11 August 2010 (Reuters) - Hedge fund Breeden European Partners has more than halved its stake in troubled social housing repairs group Connaught (LSE: CNT.L - news) , after the value of its holding plunged by more than 13 million pounds in recent weeks. The shares finished the day 14.13p + 0.73p

As mentioned in our previous 2 articles we are watching the shares and were possibly interested in entering at 10p or under but if they reached a distressed price of 5p then we might have taken a gamble
The article about the Hedge Fund appears to have strengthened the share price this week but we have seen this before with Erinaceous Group PLC (ERG.L). The involvement of a Hedge Fund is no guarantee of the survival of a Company. Hedge Funds can protect their interests better than the retail investor by "short selling". It is always the retail investor that will be hit the hardest - remember that.

23:05, Friday 13 August 2010 Dominic Midgley reports that Harry Tincknell, a budding racing driver son of Mark Tincknell., Late CEO of Connaught (CNT.L) the website for Harry Tincknell Racing has disappeared. In its place is a simple message : "Apologies for the inconvenience. This site is currently going through development and will be live as soon as possible." Connaught has been telling its shareholders the same thing. Motor racing is expensive (as the author knows having raced in Formula Ford 1600 on a tenth of the budgets of Marc Gene and Pedro Martinez de la Rosa in this Formula in Spain & Portugal). Erinaceous Group PLC lent a director 1.500.000 pounds for a private company of his in a similar line of business as the Public Company. It raises the question as to whether or not there is sufficient regulation of Public Companies whilst trading?

The shares finished the week at 16.47p up 0.39p on Friday the thirteenth

We would still stay clear of this company until it is know what Harry Tincknell did whilst CEO., whether there will be a rights issue or a deal with the company´s banks. If you are a day trader the wild swings might tempt you but the fund is a long term investor.

Goldbug100 - Ceramic Fuel Cells (CFU.L) makes sale to Japan´s Largest Gas Company

We did mention earlier this week that with every company announcement regarding a sale the shares should move upwards but perversly with the stock market shakeout world wide they went in the opposite direction the day after. Once the trade sales turn into retail sales we think that this Australian Company is a stock that you should be in. They closed the week on the LSE at 11.54p + 0.46p on the day

Company Announcement

CERAMIC FUEL CELLS’ BLUEGEN SALE TO JAPAN ’S LARGEST GAS COMPANY

Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited (AIM/ASX: CFU), a leading developer of high efficiency and low emission electricity generation units for homes and other buildings, will install a BlueGen gas-to-electricity unit with Japan’s largest gas utility, Tokyo Gas.

Mitsui & Co. has ordered the BlueGen unit on behalf of Tokyo Gas.  The BlueGen unit will be installed and demonstrated by Tokyo Gas at its testing laboratory in Tokyo .

Tokyo Gas is Japan ’s largest gas utility, serving 10.5 million gas customers in Tokyo and the surrounding region, representing 43 percent of all city gas sold in Japan .  The Tokyo Gas group produces, distributes and retails natural gas, and sells gas appliances, energy services and electricity.  Established in 1885, the group has 15,500 staff and and 2010 group revenue of USD 16 billion.

Tokyo Gas has a strategic plan to expand its activities into generating and selling electricity to become an integrated energy supply company.  Tokyo Gas has deep experience with home heating and co-generation products, having sold many products to residential customers.  As at March 2010 Tokyo Gas had installed 1,500 PEM fuel cell units, with forecasts of rapid growth to more than 40,000 units by 2014.

Mitsui & Co is one of Japan ’s leading trading companies, with more than 39,000 employees in 65 countries.  Mitsui & Co. has global operations in product sales, worldwide logistics and financing, the development of international infrastructure and other projects.  Mitsui & Co. has a long established focus on energy including renewables and fuel cells.

The order from Tokyo Gas follows orders for two BlueGen units from Japan ’s second largest gas utility, Osaka Gas, also arranged through Mitsui & Co.

Combined, Tokyo Gas and Osaka Gas serve more than 17 million customers, and more than 69 percent of all gas sales in Japan .

About the size of a dishwasher, BlueGen is the latest breakthrough in small scale electricity generation.  Each BlueGen unit can produce enough electricity and heat to meet the annual requirements for power and hot water of the average Japanese home.

BlueGen units can generate electricity at a peak electrical efficiency of up to 60 percent.  When heat is recovered for hot water, total efficiency is up to 85 percent – twice as efficient as the current power grid.

By generating power close to where it is used, Ceramic Fuel Cells’ products can meet the future demand for electricity without the need for huge investments in electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure.

Brendan Dow, Ceramic Fuel Cells’ Managing Director, said: “We are thrilled to be dealing with two such significant companies as Mitsui and Tokyo Gas – Japan ’s largest gas utility. We are confident that both companies will be impressed by BlueGen’s green credentials and electricity production capabilities. With this order, Ceramic Fuel Cells will have 51 BlueGen units ordered from seven countries – each unit demonstrating the significant benefits of distributed generation of electricity.”

The order from Tokyo Gas is the 51st BlueGen order for Ceramic Fuel Cells.  Other BlueGen units have been sold to leading energy companies and other foundation customers in Europe, Japan , the United States and Australia .
