Turkey - Kurdish anger over airstrike turns to violence in the village of Gulyazi

http://www.euronews.net/ A local government official in Turkey was attacked by an angry mob as he visited a village close to where 35 Kurdish civilians were accidentally killed by a Turkish airstrike.

The victims were mistaken for PKK militants but turned out to have been cigarette smugglers.

The official was set on by an outraged crowd in the village of Gulyazi. The mob chanted anti-government slogans and called the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan a murderer.

http://www.euronews.net/ President Vladimir Putin may have called for anti-government protesters to be treated with respect but it is unclear whether police in Moscow received the message.

They were out in force to prevent what they described as an illegal gathering in the centre of the capital.

But the participants were prevented from leaving the metro station by a large number of riot police who made several arrests. The demonstration was organised by the controversial opposition writer Eduard Limonov.

Syria - The opposition fear failure of Arab mission
