Russell Grant's Daily Horoscopes for Thursday 17th March 2011

.
Aries (Mar21/Apr20) Originality isn't your strong suit right now. Your best bet is to go along with somebody else's plans. You've always been able to cut through tasks like a hot knife slicing butter. Your involvement will boost your reputation as a capable, efficient worker. Soon job offers will pour in. At this stage, you can be selective. Presently, it's essential to establish you are ready and available to help whoever needs it. Making your mark is as simple as saying 'yes' to opportunity.
 .
Taurus (Apr21/May21) Stay focused as a rival will try to throw you off track; the stakes are too high to be diverted. You're being given an opportunity to get a job in your desired industry. Although your new position will be unorthodox, it will be related to what you want to do in a few years. Getting experience is half the battle. Opportunities related to travel, research, and broadcasting are especially favoured, but you'll find success in virtually anything you try.
 .
Gemini (May22/Jun21) Normally, you're a whirlwind who can't be stopped. That will change when you're faced with a problem that makes you question your basic assumptions about life. Instead of looking the other way at a mentor's transgressions, you must hold them accountable. Until you say something, your mentor will continue to take advantage of people who don't have the strength or experience to find alternatives. This could be the beginning of something big.
 .
Cancer (Jun22/Jul23) Someone is trying to intimidate you, but it won't work. You're absolutely determined to create long term security for you and your loved ones. If that means taking a boring but steady job, so be it. Yes, your creative side won't be satisfied with this position. This doesn't mean you have to turn your back on art. You can always paint, write, or play music in your spare time. For now, it's necessary focus on mundane practicalities for the sake of family.
 .
Leo (Jul24/Aug23) Treat your body like a temple. Loading up with snacks and sodas will make you feel heavy and sluggish. A lover or business partner is worried about your health. By making a pact, you'll be able to keep each other on the straight and narrow. One way to take the edge off your hunger is to occupy your mind with complicated tasks. Sorting out your desk drawers, organising a party, or cleaning out a messy wardrobe will make the hours fly by.
 .
Virgo (Aug24/Sep23) Go ahead and indulge your desire for a quick, light read. People will poke fun at you for enjoying such silly fare, but not everything in life should be a struggle. Lately, you've been weighing down your life with family responsibilities and hard work. Maybe it's because you want to avoid a painful personal issue. If you're out of shape, join a gym, start a diet, and set some new goals. Having a plan is half the battle.
 .
Libra (Sep24/Oct23) You have a tendency to be overly suspicious of people's motives. Just because someone is being nice to you doesn't mean they want something. Be willing to accept a generous offer. After all, you've done your fair share of good deeds. This is just the Universe's way of repaying you. An admirer's attentions make you uncomfortable. Make your feelings clear, or these gestures will just continue. It's not easy being a sex symbol, but you bear the burden well.
 .
Scorpio (Oct24/Nov22) Beware of being overly critical of a colleague or neighbour. Tensions are high, and someone will snap if exposed to any additional pressure. If you're trying to meet a deadline, don't get distracted by tiny details. It's more important to hand in something on time than turn in a perfect piece of work. A family member who has recently suffered a setback needs a sympathetic ear more than helpful advice. Don't worry; they'll soon bounce back once the shock is over.
 .
Sagittarius (Nov23/Dec21) Flattery will get you nowhere. If someone asks for your honest opinion, give it, but try not to be too harsh. You've got good instincts about making presentations and products more attractive. By offering or two suggestions, you'll improve a friend's prospects. The results of a test will be disappointing. The prospect of taking it again is exhausting, but the results will be worth it. You just need to prepare a little more. Hiring a tutor is strongly advised.
 .
Capricorn (Dec22/Jan20) Beware of spending money you don't have. Putting things on a credit card now will just result in anxiety later. You have to focus on finding an additional source of income. Spread the word among your friends that you're looking for a job. Personal contacts are more important than an impressive CV. If you're heavily in debt, you must set up a regular payment plan before you get any deeper into the hole.
 .
Aquarius (Jan21/Feb19) Avoid giving a prospective romantic partner the wrong impression. Be yourself, warts and all, to give this relationship a fair change. Pretending to be interested in sports and hobbies you hate will only lead to trouble later on. Don't underplay your strong need for independence, either. If your amour is truly worth your time, they will work to build a life with you. Already in a relationship? Admit you're angry about a partner's inconsiderate behaviour.
 .
Pisces (Feb20/Mar20) This isn't the best time to deal with a big bureaucracy or government agency. A hospital, university, or other big institution will lose your paperwork, forcing you to go through the application process all over again. Protect yourself against loss by making copies of everything you submit. Better yet, wait a few days before submitting forms. If you're going to apply for something, call ahead and ask what you will need.

Virgin Atlantic Update: Destination Washington D.C.!

Virgin Atlantic Airways

This month’s Virgin Atlantic’s favourite destination is Washington D.C., the Capital of the USA and home to the White house.

Washington has so many things to do that anyone travelling there is sure to be entertained throughout their stay. From tours of the three houses of Government, the white house, the Supreme Court and the Capitol building to historic walks and plenty of museums. We must not forget that to visit the White House a request needs to be made in advance through a member of congress! A must visit just to say you’ve been there!!

The day can start by following in the footsteps of the first lady and having breakfast at the Hay-Adams hotel. Take a stroll through Georgetown, Washington’s historic waterfront, plenty of opportunities for shopping in one of its many independently owned boutiques or one of the national shops like J.Crew. Stop for a meal at one of the many local restaurants, probably the best way to end a great day.

Washington is full of history and we are sure there will be something for everyone, visit one of the many museums available and soak up the culture.

Visit Virgin Atlantic to find great fares to this fantastic destination.

Flights from £427, book by 22nd March*
