#trumputinpeace #russia #ukraine - Zelensky says Russia hit Ukrainian power plant after Trump declared energy ceasefire | BBC News

12 October 2026

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia hit a power plant in Ukraine "immediately after" US President Donald Trump announced what he called an energy ceasefire. Zelensky said Ukraine is willing to back an energy truce if Moscow does as well, adding that it could "become a major step toward ending the war." So far, the Kremlin has not commented on the idea, which could see both sides pausing attacks on each other's energy facilities. Trump has been urging Ukraine to stop strikes on Russian oil infrastructure so Moscow can fulfil a recently struck deal to release diesel to the US and the global market.

‘Putin Does Not Read Truth Social…’: Zelensky Hits Trump With a Brutal Reality Check

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky challenges Vladimir Putin over continued Russian strikes despite Donald Trump’s energy ceasefire announcement. Calling for real U.S. pressure instead of concessions, Zelensky demands stronger support for Ukraine and questions Washington’s reported diesel deal with Moscow. He also reveals what it would take for Ukraine to hold elections during the war.
