Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia hit a power plant in Ukraine "immediately after" US President Donald Trump announced what he called an energy ceasefire. Zelensky said Ukraine is willing to back an energy truce if Moscow does as well, adding that it could "become a major step toward ending the war." So far, the Kremlin has not commented on the idea, which could see both sides pausing attacks on each other's energy facilities. Trump has been urging Ukraine to stop strikes on Russian oil infrastructure so Moscow can fulfil a recently struck deal to release diesel to the US and the global market.
The agreement, which the US president said would lower fuel prices, has angered members of his own party, who joined with Democrats in claiming that it was a ‘financial lifeline’ to a murderous regime and a violation of US law. https://t.co/1zeX82j6aZ https://t.co/8cdsI0Vi1H

The primary cause of rising energy costs is the president’s war against Iran, not Ukraine. American voters will punish him 🔗 https://t.co/3AqKHfD8hK https://t.co/G0ttTViVCp
