#F1 - Sauber has much to do in 2025: The Inside Line

Sauber, which finished on the bottom of 2024’s constructors’ standings, is under pressure, with less than a year until it becomes Audi’s works squad.

The Hinwil-based outfit scored just four points last season, earned with Zhou Guanyu’s eighth place at the penultimate round in Qatar.

Sauber is - for the second time - preparing for a glorious future, with the Swiss squad in transition to become Audi from 2026, two decades after it did the same with German rival BMW. But, it’s suffering at present, and not for the first time either - with Sauber on zero points at the same junctures in 2016 and 2014 at the dawn of the sport’s turbo-hybrid era, when it was Mercedes - and not Ferrari - delivering the class-leading power unit grunt.
